CR1 interview costs?

Since my petitions were both sent to the NVC, I have been following both paths. Today my AOS showed paid and I mailed my AOS package. And today we received the Packet 3 for our K3.

The process in Buenos Aires is to go through the checklist and send in copies of all of the documents before they schedule the interview. Now one of the things they want you to do is pay the visa fee of $131 and I would assume send a copy of the receipt.

Is this fee required for the CR1 interview, or is it just for the K3 because it is a non-immigrant visa and this is a non-immigrant fee?

Now I am trying to decide if I should continue with the K3. If this is not required for the CR1, I would be wasting $131.

My reason for still following both is because I should be able to get the interview sooner. In Buenos Aires, after they receive the Packet 3, they usually schedule the interview in about 2 to 3 weeks. So I would be looking at the end of July for the interview, and I should be able to complete the NVC process by then with my I-130, and then it would be a CR1 interview.

But if I just pursue the CR1 now, I am not sure when the interview would be.

So after this long story, Is the $131 fee needed for the CR1, and what are the costs at the interview for the CR1?

The $131 fee is for K visas. You should have paid the CR1 visa fee when you paid the $380. Costs can vary per Embassy. Besides the medical most of the costs will already be paid before the interview.
