Woohoo! Had interview yesterday in Vancouver and heading HOME to California next week!

Showed up at US Consulate at 12:30pm, interview at 1pm...they let us in early, no problem...I was shocked at the security, worse than the airport! Vancouver airport has a Storage Consigne area, located on the Arrivals floor, that is very cheap to store a backpack, etc. We flew in yesterday morning so we didn't have a hotel room to keep anything.

First, an officer came into the waiting room and gave me a list of everything to have available in order, originals and photocopies. About 20 mins later I was called to Window B and we went thru all the documents...very nice lady I have to say. We waited for about another 20 mins, then I was called to Window 1 to do fingerprinting...had to wake my son up to get his done! lol...they had a real comfy loveseat in the waiting room & being that we had already been up since 3am, he nodded off...they all laughed. Then about 10 mins later, I was called to Window 2 were I had an absolutely WONDERFUL woman asking me stuff about how we met, which website (as she might be interested! lol), when we first met, when we got married, what did we do after (had brunch as we both LOVE breakfast & put together a patio swing!) if he has family, how much money he makes, THEY DID NOT REQUIRE THE I-134 (as I suspected and stressed about the I-134 from Jim getting stuck in Customs!) They spoke to my son for about 90 seconds, that was it! She said, "how can I not approve you? you look SO happy!" I told her that I've never been happier in my life after being a single Mom for 13 yrs!

Asked me to have a seat, 5 mins later, got called back to Window B where she explained to me what I would receive in the mail. That was it...my son & I got in the elevator and I just hugged him and cried...it's OVER and we're going HOME!

Thank you to everyone on VJ for all your help & support...may all of you have health & happiness with your cherished spouses, make every day a new day as we only have one try at this thing called life...

I will be back for AOS & EAD advice...till then, good luck & take care!!

hugz...
