Since K-1 is only for 90 days, will immigration require that beneficiary has a roundtrip ticket with return shorter than 90 days or is a one-way ticket OK?

Do the cheapest... US immigration will not care or even ask.

Agreed. But the airline may try to insist she buy a roundtrip ticket as her visa will be a non-immigrant visa. When Rin and I went to the Thai Airways ticket office in Bangkok to get tickets for the children (last Sept), the lady at the counter insisted that we have to buy roundtrip tickets. I told her no, they are moving to the US, and will not return. Additionally, Rin had received a one-way ticket six months earlier without any problem. She took their passports to the back; spoke to a supervisor for about 10 minutes; then came back and issued one-way tickets (saved about $500/ticket).

K-3

11/15/2006 - NOA1 Receipt for 129F

02/12/2007 - I-130 and I-129F approved!

04/17/2007 - Interview - visa approved!

04/18/2007 - POE LAX - Finally in the USA!!!

04/19/2007 - WE ARE FINALLY HOME!!!

09/20/2007 - Sent Packet 3 for K-4 Visas (follow to join for children)

10/02/2007 - K-4 Interviews - approved

10/12/2007 - Everyone back to USA!

AOS

06/20/2008 - Mailed I-485, I-765 (plus I-130 for children)

06/27/2008 - NOA1 for I-485, I-765, and I-130s

07/16/2008 - Biometrics appointment

08/28/2008 - EAD cards received

11/20/2008 - AOS Interviews - approved

Which ever is cheaper.

My wife entered the USA on a one-way.

Note: K-Visas have IMMIGRANT intent, the POE officer knows this and does not require or even asks to see a return ticket. Why would someone entering the USA with the intent to marry and adjust need a return ticket?

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Egypt air is not US immigration. As previously mentioned, airline employees may need som education or maybe some countries have exit requirements for there citizens...

I have heard through the grapevine that some people have sold there return ticket. Not sure if that's correct or not.

How can they do that? The TSA checks the ticket against ID and if they dont match there is no getting through security.

Perhaps could be done if the ticket were transferable is some way, and the airline were to re-issue the ticket to the person who was sold the return ticket.

There is some truth in ww's statement; such transactions were known as late as the 1980's (TSA wasn't set up until 2001), but airlines have been asking for ID since at least 1991 to prevent such--their motivation was revenue rather than security.

They can take an indirect flight but some require transit visas. It usually doesn't take very long to get a transit visa once your US visa is issued. The website has a list of which countries require transit visas.

A solution may be if you can ask her to travel to one of Islamabad, Iqbal or Jinnah airports by land; then take a flight through Singapore to SFO.

You can determine if a transit visa will be required to connect through one of those countries here: http://www.delta.com/planning_reservations...rt_information/

I can also give you one other approach.

Get a visa for India (Delhi), then have her take a flight to IGI, connecting to a flight from IGI to EWR (Newark).
