how soon should i start getting the required vaccinations?

hi! i noticed that there is a lengthy list of required vaccinations. i think i only have 2 or 3 of those. should i start getting my vaccinations now? i understand that some vaccinations for certain diseases are administered several times over a certain time frame (ie. once a month for 2 months) so that by the time i get my NOA2, i'd be prepared for the medical. what do u guys think? thanks so much!

K-Visas are NON-Immigrant and dont require them done for the visa, you can do them now and bring the record to the visa medial, and keep a copy for later when you adjust status, or you can defer them until after you enter the USA.

My wife did them shortly after getting visa, and brought the vaccination record to USA for adjustment of status.

K3/K4 visa applicants, as nonimmigrant visa applicants, are technically not subject to the vaccination requirement. K3/K4 visa applicants who refuse to comply with the vaccination requirement will not be denied a visa on that basis. As a matter of expediency, however, it is encouraged that K3/K4 visa applicants meet the vaccination requirement before they are admitted into the U.S.

Also you wont do ALL the vaccinations on the list only ones that are AGE appropriate, which for most in our age group are 3 or 4 of them.

okay but if the I-130 gets approved first, we might do the IR1 route. if in case that happens, should i start getting the vaccinations now?

Hi there! I just had my medical examination last month (May 27, 2008). If you get your vaccinations from a private clinic, you ave to pay for it. And still you have to pay for the Medical Examination Fee at St. Luke's regardless if you had your vaccines earlier. With my personal experience, i advice you NOT to get them from outside. At St. Luke's they will give you vaccines according to your age. I got only 3 (MMR, Varicella, HTP). The next shots will be a year after and that will be when you get to the US. Take this as a piece of advice so you wont be spending double.

Then you will need the vaccinations before interview, you can get them done at the time of medical or before medical.
