How long NVC hold 130 approved petition?

I've decided to go ahead with the K3 process. Just today I received the AOS ..affidavit of support bill for the 130 processing at NVC. If I want to move forward with K3, how do I inform NVC that my wife will be adjusting her status after entering US with a K3?

Should I pay the fee now or will NVC automatically hold the approved 130 petition until we file adjustment of status?

I guess I'm not clear on how to pause NVC since both our petitions have been approved.

NVC will keep pending petitons active for one year before they toss them in the "dead" files. You can notify them by e-mail that you are no longer pursing the IR-1/CR-1 but instead pursuing the K-3 visa. Or you can keep it active just in case...

You don't need to do anything at all. We just stopped answering NVC on the I-130 and didn't file AOS until 14 months later with no problem at all. During the AOS process, I called USCIS and asked if they got my I-130 file back from NVC, and I was told, it didn't matter. They had the approval on record. Keep that NOA2 though because you do need to submit it with your I-485 and it is costly to replace.

I will hold off by not responding to NVC and keep NOA2.

I prefer to have the K3 visa approved and in hand before taking further steps related to 130. Upon approval of K3, my wife will either enter US on the K3 whereby she later adjusts status or I will mail a request to have the 130 completed/processed at the consulate should we decide to hold off on entering the US.

I want to have the 130 processed where I am closest to in the event of missing/incomplete original documents. Or,

for interview purposes.
