I think the internet makes it more difficult because some people feel they can hide behind their faceless comments and say whatever they want without regard to how that effects anyone. You have to wonder if these same people are so rude in person.

I try really hard to be nice to people online and in person...

If you have to try hard, that means you don't want to.

You should be more like me, totally zen with myself. I love everyone and my niceness comes from within!

I've invariably found that people I've met in real life through forums have always been nicer than their online persona.

Personally I know what it's like to have a bad day and to go online to find some solace, only to end up being even more upset by something that's being said, so I do my best to remain neutral. Even so, intent doesn't always come across very well in text, and as a result I've accidentally offended someone on this site at least once. I suppose the stress of the immigration process also makes us all a little highly strung.

And when you combine the two, people being able to hide behind the anonymity of the internet and people's intent/true feelings being misinterpreted, you have even more trouble.

That comment just proved the points, unnecesary though it was.

I agree with the person above. I am nice unless someone is undeserving. Even then, I am nicer then I should be for longer then I should probably be. Some would say too nice.

Do you all think rudeness in general has gotten out of control? I feel there is little to no customer service anymore.

I am.

i highly doubt that

Don't believe me? Ask Mags when she gets back. She's been ashamed to be in public with me more than once.

Neil is a bit like you Platy. I've been ashamed to be in public with him more than once as well. I sometimes wonder if he has a stop button :P

You really need to go away....

Lady, people aren't chocolates. Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. ####### coated bastards with ####### filling. But I don't find them half as annoying as I find naive bobble-headed optimists who walk around vomiting sunshine.

I think instead of being rude to brazilians you should perfect your english so your insults make more sense. Then, feel free to come back and insult people. We might laugh with you instead of at you.
