Maybe is a problem...

I was gathering my I-751 documents together tonight. I realize I do have the problem with addresses on my documents...........

I and EX used to live in A address

But I got B address (monther in law's) on joint 2007 Tax (during our seperation) (some of bank statements were also mailed to there after I got statements from EX)

Recently, I ask EX to contact insurance agent to get a copy of joint car insurance policy. The agent mailed the policy to my current one (C address) with EX name on envelop. BTW, I also got joint credit card statements mailed to C address

This C address was the one I used for AR 11 (I only file this time)

Totally, there are 3 addresses existing in all my docments. I am getting a little confused too. Will address issue be a problem???

Since you can't change the addresses, I'm afraid you're gonna have to present the documents the way they are anyway. Did you and your "EX" sign a joint lease at "A address"? How did your joint tax return have "B address" on it? Why didn't you ask your tax preparer to put your "A" or "C" address it? And when you mean "EX", are you guys divorced or separated?

The address issue is definitely not as important as the status of your relationship. How much of an issue the multiple addresses on multiple documents will be depends on whether you will be filing separately or jointly. And if you guys are separated, no longer in talking terms and you don't see yourselves living together again as a couple, I'd advice you wait until you're divorced before you file. I don't think it's a good idea to file jointly if you're already separated.

Since you guys are divorced, the first burden you'd have to overcome is that you entered into the marriage "in good faith" (I'm sure you've heard that before). So you'd have to start collating information and documents that showed your lives were intertwined as a couple while the going was good. The joint lease you signed is a crucial piece of evidence and you're going to have to find that in some way. It's very crucial you are able to prove that you lived together at the SAME address at some point. Have you tried contacting the leasing office at "A address" to see if they could find that for you? It's good you have joint tax statements and car insurance but try to collect more info...the more the better. Good luck!

The key is shared residence and finances. I would ask a landlord for a copy of lease address A. Since address B is mother-in-law-it is not so bad. It shows that you were a part of her family at large. Anyway, you need to put down all addresses on separate paper and can write explanations about each address.
