VJ People, please advice me.

My husband is coming this Saturday June 21, and after one week from then we are leaving to CA, for good. What we suppose to do, who do we need to call and change the address? Is there gonna be any issues about moving before receiving SSN and GC? Please advice.

Thanks in advance,

Dani

It is recommended to move after getting GC and SSN. It wouldn't take 1 month for that. Also, forward your mail at USPS to new address. Contact USCIS and SSA for your address change. Good luck

Anyway, you need to file I-865 to inform USCIS about address change.

PS:- If you do not file a properly completed Form I-865 within 30 days of any change of address, USCIS may impose a civil fine for your failing to do so.

Also, your beneficiary has to file AR-11 with USCIS until he/she becomes U.S Citizen !

Hello and Congratulations.. Make sure you inform USCIS of your move, I didn't realize the Green card comes from USCIS I thought it was NVC and now after 3 months my husband still does not have his greencard if you don't inform them of an address change it cost almost 400.00 for a replacement.. God Bless you on your journey.

You can file to change your address with USCIS online. Plus I imagine you will be having your mail forwarded. Problem with that is POs wait to get a week or sos mail before they forward it.

K1 denied, K3/K4, CR-1/CR-2, AOS, ROC, Adoption, US citizenship and dual citizenship

!! ALL PAU!

I've read somewhere that if you know your future adress in CA your husband might change the adress at POE (where the GC and SSN might be send). I'm not sure about it. Good luck anyway.

Thank you calamitka, that is the one of the options that we have, my husband is coming this Saturday and at the POE he will try to ask if that possible.

Thanks again!
