Holiday Effect on Visa Process

I think the fact that we filed just after Christmas is working on our favor. Too many people busy with the Holidays and not many filings through January. We received our letter from the NVC and now we need to file packet 3 and schedule the Doctor and Police. Attorney we are using says the wait for interview is about 30 to 45 days. Anyone have experience on how long they are waiting for the interview date?

I have to say that I disagree. We sent off the I-129F in Sept and it was approved right after Thanksgiving. Then our case was sent to the NVC and a week later it was off to Rio. Weeks later we found out our interview date.

All together our process was 6 months, and that includes the holidays Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years.

11/2004 - Met in Brazil

09/2006 - Apply for K1

03/2007 - K1 approved

04/2007 - Apply for AOS & EAD

07/2007 - EAD approved

01/2008 - Conditional Residency approved

11/2009 - Apply to remove conditions

02/2010 - Permanent Residency approved

11/2010 - Apply for Citizenship

03/2011 - Citizenship approved

07/2011 - Moved back to Brazil
