Nana,

Are you a Veteran?

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

Senator Barack Obama
Senate Floor Speech on Public Debt

I think his point is this. The vast majority of soldiers are proud to serve. Remember that we have an all volunteer armed service. The usual hitch is 4 years so that means that every single soldier serving knew we were fighting when they signed up. They are there because they want to be there. Your posting a few vids of disgruntled soldiers is a very large distortion and a disservice to the brave men and women that serve.

I disagree with you. I can tell that you havnt spoken to many soldiers as I have, many are family members and co workers. Let me begin by saying that I do my job not because I love it, but because I have also taken an oath, and I truly believe in what I am doing, my son and my wife are proud of me, and I am honored to be an officer.

And my co workers feel the same way, even though the job is tough we believe in, so we dont mind carying out our duties. Most of the soldiers do not believe in this war, that is why they dont want to be there, many signed up because of 9 11, and wanted to fight for this country,I also tried to enlist. But now that we all know the truth, that all that was said was a lie the truth is this is a senseless war. And it has made them more powerful and us weaker.

I work with some of the most honorable men, they are not also officers but are also in the militiary, they do not believe in this war. I agree that majority are proud to serve, but they do not believe in what they are doing, their moral is down, and as long as they dont understand what the purpose of this war is and they dont feel that anything is changing the moral will continue to diminish snd lives will deminish also.

First off being a veteran, when you sign up you do think about war, but you are never prepared for it, like up front and personal, after seeing your buddies get their legs and arms blown off, and dead children you tend to start to think about things a little differently. Just like Vietnam, war is horrific, it is something to be used only as a last resort, Iraq is not last resort, and they came out and admitted that they lied about the facts in order to get permission on this war. To see soldiers killed for NOTHING really pisses me of, but then again I happen to care.

This should have never happened

Thats just the few you talked to. I also have many friends that are there or have been there. Every one of them went in with the full knowledge of what they were doing and were proud to serve. I have a friend and coworker that left a good job and his family because he wanted to serve. I have 2 brothers that served over in Iraq. They all knew what the story was and believed in what they were doing. Don't base your opinion on a few disgruntled soldiers. They do not represent the majority.

First off, all your pictures are not of soldiers killed or injured in battle. The top and bottom ones are from the terrorists that we are fighting. The middle one isn't from the Iraq war at all. So your attempt at shock just doesn't work. YOU may think the war was based on lies but that is your opinion. A great many feel that this was a necessary war that needed to be done. You do not speak for all veterans including myself.

They lied, they admitted it, what part of that did you not understand, I mean they came out and admitted this, and you still back these people, Wow I really have no words for that, what they did is criminal period. It is not just my opinion, it is based on facts and the investagation, but I am sure you know all this since you seem well informed.
