Wow...been so long since I actually started a topic here

I don't post much here, but this forum has been so helpful in the past when going through the K-1 and then the AOS (been almost a year since I got my GC...it goes by so fast! Won't be too long before we have to Remove Conditions!)

Anyway, just wanted to announce that John and I recently moved into our first apartment as a married couple. When I moved down here, it was his bachelor apartment, that was very tiny, but we somehow made it work for over a year. Now, we have our first place. And it wasn't too far of a move either! Three floors down

We're now on the first floor of the Antebellum Mansion that has 10 apartments. Our apt. used to aparently be the ballroom...pocket doors, marble fireplace and has to be 10-12ft ceiling.

Not as much storage as upstairs (colonial closets!) but we'll make do, we always do :)

And...the announcement of our first 'children'

Meet Tory (the grey kitten and loves boxes and bags!) and Bob. They're both female (John named Bob *sigh*)

They are both rescues. Tory we were told was a stray that was brought in with her sister. Was 3.5months when we got her. And Bob was actually being surrendered back to the shelter when we were looking. Made John cry so he took her. I'm glad too because she is such an affectionate cat (once she came out from under the bed!).

We love them and look forward to enjoying their company. There is nothing like coming home from a hard day's work and having a cat plop in your lap and start purring :)

that's what I miss about having a cat, the plopping in the lap and purring. Bruno does that, but at 190 pounds, when he plops, it kinda hurts! ;)

I like Tory's face, very pensive. And Bob is a perfect name for a cat! She's very pretty :) I have a girl dog named George, they don't have hang-ups about gendered names like we do.

divorced - April 2010 moved back to Ontario May 2010 and surrendered green card

Aww! Congratulations on your new apartment - it sounds Wonderful! I always loved living in 'house' apartments - they have so much personality and character. Congratulations on your new family as well - they are both adorable! Looks like you can add yourselves ot the VJ Fluffy Kitty Posse, now!

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Congrats on your new place. It sounds lovely! And you're right there is nothing better than a couple of cat grins to welcome you home. Sounds like life in the USA has been treating you very well.
