Hello - My fiance and I are working on the documents that he takes to the London Embassy for the interview. In his letter it says to have my notorized tax return from last year. This is the first I have heard about having the tax return notarized. The tax return was signed when I filed it so how do I have it notarized now? I have a bank letter, employment letter, bank statements, pay stubs, tax returns and the notarized affidavit of support.

So my question is, did anyone else have their tax returns notarized?

Thanks!

Stacey,

When I had to go through getting tax returns notarized and such, I just called this number to Request transcripts. 1-800-829-1040, here is the link to the IRS's website http://www.irs.gov/individuals/article/0,,id=110571,00.html When I requested them it took around 7 days for them to get to me . I did not get those notarized as they are official documents from the IRS, its easier and is one less thing you have to worry about! Hope this helps, good luck with the interview!!!

Kind Regards,

Shawna & Chris

They don't even have to be signed!! They can be faxed copies also.

Tax transcripts are MUCH better.

The I134 is notarized, the tax returns are not. You can use any copies that you have, just make sure and include the W-2s (he can even scan and email them and you can print them out). Good Luck

From what I understand, the information on the London Embassy website asks for notarized tax returns. However, there is no need to notarize a tax return. I would sign the copy if submitted though. They actually prefer the transcripts, so get them instead of you can.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...
