Hi to all VJ members,

Hi I am a 25 yr old unmaried doctor, citizen of India and currently pursuing for US Medical License.

My Father is a naturalised US Citizen since 1999. He applied for I-130 for me, earlier in 2001, but due to some unavoidable circumstances, he could not follow through the procedures and finally he came to know in 2005 end that the application has been purged.

He then reapplied I-130 for me in june 2007, which got approved in Sep 2007.

My Questions:

1. how much is the timeline for me to get the IV ?

2. Since I am Already taking exams for USMLE, I am Planning to get into a residency program in US by next year. In this time i need to work in the US as a

research scientist, for which i have to come to US and get interviewed.

Please tell me :- Is it legal to apply for a NIV while my I-130 is being processed ?

How do i apply for a work permit, while in the US (on visitor visa) after getting selected for a job ?
