Thanks, girl. Great to hear you'll be with your man real soon. I've not seen my hunny in a year.

I got the house decorated. It's Christmas eve here in the Phlippines.

Welcome aboard.

This forum has been tremendous help to us, hope it will be useful to you as well. Don't worry about the lingo, we didn't quite get that too soon either.

We hope you hear something from USCIS when things resume to normal by the start of the new year. Don't rely on their website - it doesn't get updated regularly (or any at all since end of October).

All the best!

(F) ~Mike and Gracey

Hello June Filers -

My son is the filer. I've been helping him with this process. He was in Afghanistan for 4 months, and superbusy with work, placating his fiance <G>, etc.

I'm new here, so hope I can get the lingo correct.

The NOA1 was dated Feb 29. One of his forms was sent back because he hadn't signed it. It was sent back, although past the requested date. They received it June 19, and according to the website, "Current Status: Response to request for evidence received, and case processing has resumed."

I am assuming that they stopped work on his application until they received the form back, and realistically his case is now grouped with the June filers. He has not heard anything since then. According to the processing dates, they are about 6 1/2 months behind, so I am assuming that (hopefully) he hears something by the middle of January, working in extra days off for the holidays?

I'm nervous that his file has fallen behind some caseworkers desk. <G>

His fiance is a Romanian citizen legally living and working in London, and she's really getting antsy, as is my son!

Thanks, and congrats to all who have heard something from them!

Nancy,

I had same problem. forgot to sign. and finally my NOA1 is June 5th. whatever the problem is, there has been no update for my case since June 26, 2008. tried all the means, including contacting state senate and senate subcommitte, I called USCIS again today. asked to transfer to next level representive, still the same answer "processing time is march 7, 2008, I am sorry you feel like this is just an excuse, but there is nothing we will do". To keep me from being upset because of this phone call, i came to VJ immediately.

Merry Xmas to you and your son! Good luck for next year. for now, let's just enjoy the beautiful holidays!

Merry Christmas to all!

Just wanted to add this brief note about Noi's consulate interview (she passed!) for anyone who is still playing the waiting game on that:

Noi made friends with about 6 other young women at the consulate who were waiting for their interviews. She said they all passed except for one girl who had the misfortune to have the same surname as someone else who came up in a police or FBI check. But even she was assured by the consulate that if it wasn't really her, the situation could be cleared up within a few weeks.

So, passing the interview is definitely the norm. Don't worry and happy holidays!

And to speed things up:

Hi Radz,

:star: MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU AS WELL!!!! :star:

You know what li'l Gianni said when I put up the Christmas tree? He said, "I gotta tell Tita Radz, maybe she'll come back now that we have a Christmas tree!"

And everday he asks to borrow my laptop saying, "I need to chat with Tita Radz". Only, I can't lend him this laptop cuz I am up on my toes trying to finish some work.

I just assured the kids that their Tita Radz will be back in January. Oh they can't wait! They love her so much! So do I!

-----

I am feeling upset reading about our fellow petition filers who have not gotten any good news. This whole thing is such an ordeal in itself, and having to wait for much longer than what they call "normal processing time" is enough to cause a heart attack. [ There's this girl in our friends list, who goes by the name Estadia. Just look at her timeline - hers is the absolute worst! I feel so sorry for her. ] Even with the advice that we give (which worked for us and a few others), nothing good's come up and these filers are still being told to simply WAIT. USCIS has no heart, it does not know emotions.

My thoughts and prayers go out to all of those who are in process, most especially those who are waiting beyond the normal processing time. May you hear good news about your case real soon. I pray with utmost concern.

(F) ~Mike's Gracey

Hello,

yeah, I guess everybody is enjoying their holidays. I will too when Daniel is here tomorrow night. Gosh, I just cannot wait. He is already on his way now so I will track his flights until he flies into Berlin. :-)

I probably won't be around much either during the next 4 weeks. I just really hope we get NOA 2 during these weeks as well. If not, I really won't know what to do anymore... :dead:

Enjoy your time off everybody! I have had a bad cold but also ate and drank a lot. That was the best food in ages my mom made..hmmmm :jest:

Hey everyone! Sorry I have been MIA--I'm in Uganda now and have limited access to the internet. Just wanted to give everyone a quick update! Hille and I travelled to Kenya for the Medical Exam and found out yesterday he passed! We were able to move up his interview date from the 12th to the 7th, so we'll head back to Kenya next week (a 13 hour bus ride!) complete his vaccinations and hopefully have some good news when we come back!
