Has anyone heard of Vermont sending the approved K1 application directly to the embassy and not to NVC? We just phoned Vermont to ask if our approved NOA2 had gone to NVC, and they said it had (as our letter stated) been sent directly to the Prague Embassy instead. According to the woman we spoke to, they have the choice of sending it to NVC or the embassy.

We asked to her repeat herself a few times to make sure, and she seemed 100% assured that it was normal procedure. It is great if it has gone to the embassy, we can move things forward much faster, and I will call them Monday to check. But we are just concerned that this is unusual, and dont want any hitches in the procedure.

Anyone else had this experience?

Hey, congrats to your approval!!!

I think we USCIS/NVC have sometimes different procedures for different countries. For some country I read that actually NVC (if I remember it right) choses the interview date. So your case doesn't really surprise me. Actually I think your case in going to be forwarded faster then anyways

Chibby,

freut mich, dass es bei dir sooo zügig voran geht!!! :-)

I have no idea what is taking them so long with our petition. I wouldn't think its difficult and I don't even think we got in extra security checks since we were touched only once on the same dates as others that got recently approved. Oh well, my hopes are that we get approved before we hit the 180 days...after that we probably won't be able to make our March wedding date. :(

Once I have my NOA 2 you will be a pro and can help me. :)

Good luck for your interview. I am sure it will go smooth.

I was hoping we'd have the interview the same day and meet in Frankfurt or something lol. But I'm sure you'll have your NOA 2 coming soon, it's probably on the desk of some lame a** officer. At least you know they still have it in their system. You'll be good with your March wedding date, Noa 2 will come in December :) as a christmas present.

And of course I'll help you, but I think you're pretty well prepared by yourself right now, aren't you? ;)

That maybe possible im not sure, I do know the only reason K1 visa are sent to NVC is that they are assigned a new number there. The number will be something liket this MNL2008********. MNL is for Manila embassy each embassy has a three letter code for that embassy before the case number. That number helps track where the packet was sent to. K1 visa's only stay at NVC for a few days, around 3 days from what i had observed when I was keeping track of that, so even if its at NVC it goes out quickly because NVC doent do anything other thand assign that number, ship out the packet and send electronic transfer of the packet also to embassy's. Good Luck

Thanks for the info. I'm sure that woman at Vermont just said that to get us off the phone! It seems strange that every other NOA2 would go through NVC and ours not. Anyway, we will phone around next week and maybe we will find out where our case really is. For the moment it seems to have disappeared..

Wow, the first weekend since 27th June of not constantly checking Igor's list, USCIS and visa journey every hour for our NOA2. I will be so bored:-)
