Hi All,

But I did call NVC and gave them my Receipt Number and they told me that they received my case last week and i was approved. They also gave me my NVC case#

Thanks!! I know, I hoped too that somehow our files were close to each other. Apparently they are not. I know that NOA 2 could come any day now but I am just stressing out about falling into a black whole in which so many people on VJ are. That would be our nightmare.

We already contacted our congressman and they inquired about our case at USCIS saying they would get back to us when they hear something. I know we contacted him pretty early but by the time they hear something we might already have hit the 6 months mark and; sure who knows if they can do anything at all even.

Also Daniel is thinking about going to an infopass appointment. Does anybody know anything about that? Could that be good? Maybe after we hit the 6 months mark (if we do)?

I know we are still within the timeline but we start not wanting to leave it to chance whether we get approved or not. We are horrified to have to wait for years.

What really pisses me off though is that the USCIS staff tells everybody the same bullsh*** on the phone: "working on March" tsetsetse...And that now we have to call them anytime we want to know the status of our petition. Oh yeah, plus the first lady yesterday said something like "What does it help you to know the status of your petition? If you are approved they will send you a letter" Yeah, sure. Weeks later, if ever at all!!! I hate this system.

congratulations!!! woohooohooo!!!!

see, my hunny's smart (and very courageous) ;) for finding out a way to get past those level 1 call center robots.

you know what? I think it would big help to a lot of filers if we started a thread about that, i mean something about how to get level 2 support.

otherwise, people are stuck with the USCIS website that got stuck. :bonk:

CONGRATULATIONS AGAIN, MADWOMAN! :luv:

yo, people, time to check out with LEVEL 2. :bonk:

~Gracey

<--- NOT JUST EXTREMELY HANDSOME... VERY SMART TOO!

APPROVED!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow, I can finally write this message I have been longing to write for so long!!!! I took Mike and Gracey's advice and called USCIS. The first worker o refused to "escalate my call" saying there was no supervisor available, and that she had all the info to help me. She actually got an attitude about it--I hung up on her I was so frustrated! Called back and the next worker was so nice-- I calmly explained my situation and asked to speak to a supervisor just to be sure about my case. She agreed to escalate my call and the nice supervisor told me what I wanted to here:

APPROVED November 12th!!!!!!

YAY!!!!!!! Thank you everyone for all of your support and advice--I really would have gone crazy without you! Now I hope that the second stage will go more smoothly....but I'm not holding my breath! Just SO GLAD to have some inkling that this will all be over soon. :star:

What do you mean USCIS people couldn't help you? DId they also tell you your petition was still pending and yet it was actually approved and received and already sent to NVC?? Who did you talk to? Level 1 or level 2 support staff?? This would be really strange! But yet another way to maybe find out more...

Pen,

I talked to both levels at USCIS and both of them said case is received & pending, I would suggest you call NVC and give them your receipt # and they can tell you if they received your case...

Your filing date is similar to mine and you were touched on the same day as mine (July 10th), i think..... you of all people should have better chance with NVC..

and by the way, I got the NOA2 letter in the mail yesterday, and USCIS website still says received & pending...

Please call NVC, if you really want to find out...

Panterchen - I know it seems like you've been waiting so long, longer than others but there are lots of people who waited over 150 days, and you are very close to that mark, but not quite there yet. You will probably see an approval any day now! Hang in there... the last couple of weeks are horrile, but it's bound to happen.

I send back my Packet 3 checklist last night... and now we wait... should be another 2-3 months until we get an interview. I'm hoping for a late February interview but it could even be March or April... we shall see!

Removing Conditions

Sent package to VSC - 8/12/11

NOA1 - 8/16/11

Good luck Panterchen!!! I am crossing my fingers for you! I still believe that you are in the same "July 10th" basket as we were--maybe just a bit further down. We don't know how many non-VJ members are also there. Just wait---you are so close, I bet your petition is just a few inches from the top!!!

Crazy and Mad--I'm so happy that you were able to talk to someone that actually KNEW something. Funny how that happens--but only if your persistent with USCIS :bonk::blink:

Ok, so NVC apparently isn't any better than USCIS. We gave them our case number and then the guy asks us if it was approved; and we said "not sure we want to verify since the computer system is down" and then he just answered that they will not get the case until we have an approval and refused to check if they even got it. He had an attitude like sh**. Rude people. Guess we just have to wait.

Really? I can't believe that! They were so nice to me-they just asked my what my receipt number was and that was it....I'm so sorry...could you try again and just lie and say you believe you are approved and you'd like to know if it's been received at NVC yet? Nothing wrong with a little "white lie" right? Anyway you'll never talk to the same person twice!

I think we will try next week again. We are so pissed about this attitude. They don't fu***ing care about us people.

Yeah, we werethinking about this little white lie too, but we don't want to cause any problems. Not that the NVC then would call USCIS because of this problem or something...Oh well, hopefully until thanksgiving we hear something or at least the computer system works again... ;-)
