Becca,

Good luck at the new job. From everything you've said, it seems like you will do just fine. This change isn't maybe as big as some of the huge ones you've already conquered. Let us know how it goes!

I'd also like to say that you've given me inspiration. I've been considering a career change for about a year now. I've been doing this for almost 10 years so it feels weird to think about a change, but if I'm going to do it, then next year when my son graduates will be the time to do it. I read your story and felt inspired, so thank you!

And yeah, VJ feels like a weird and dysfunctional extended family to me too, after only a year-ish. I fully intended to stay away from VJ once P gets here, but I don't know if I can :)

GOOD LUCK!!!!

hey anyone who says they are afraid of failure is a liar I think. but it is the ones that try. that's the important thing. Just go there and do what you've got to do. It'll all be ok. Then you will look back and say look at how scared i was and look at me now!:)

You never know how strong you are as a person until you go out, do it, and watch the benefits pay off. The visa process is a major indicator of that. How scarey it is in beginning (and even some during), and then you get out and you say "I did all THAT.....wow"

surely that does not apply to every situation, like learning how to swim.

Change can be scary and exciting. After six weeks at the new job you'll find yourself reevaluating the situation and feeling better. I have complete faith in you. You're an old shoe at this and can handle pretty much anything.
