Gallup Daily: Obama 46%, McCain 43%

Obama’s lead shrinks slightly compared with earlier this week

PRINCETON, NJ -- Barack Obama leads John McCain in national registered voter preferences for the election, but by a slightly narrower margin than he had earlier this week, 46% vs. 43%.

Although Obama's three percentage point advantage is statistically significant, it is down from the 6- to 7-point leads he had in Gallup Poll Daily tracking reports on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of this week.

According to the latest results, based on Gallup Poll Daily tracking interviews from June 9-10 and 12, a sizeable 10% of national registered voters are either undecided between the two major party candidates for president (4%), or say they will not vote for either (6%). This is the highest uncommitted percentage Gallup has seen since it launched daily tracking of an Obama vs. McCain race in early March. (The average across this time period is 8%.) Additionally, a consistent 1% volunteer they will vote for a different candidate. -- Lydia Saad

Pic Wars - Woohoo!

No, it was just a one time #######-for-tat. The poll numbers speak for themselves. What was supposed to be over before it started is a real horse race. When the general election season really gets started and they have a few debates Obama will be toast. America doesn't want every solution to end up with a new tax.

The kid in that one looks suspiciously like Piglet from Winnie the Pooh.

LOL...Jeffrey Stahler's one of my favorite political cartoonist. I've often fantasized about becoming a political cartoonist.

Poll Suggests Obama Is Putting North Carolina In Play

Barack Obama's promise to make a play for North Carolina -- a state that has consistently voted Republican since 1980 -- might just have some potential to really pay off, a new poll from Rasmussen suggests.

The numbers: McCain 45%, Obama 43%, within the ±4% margin of error. This is consistent with other recent polls that have shown McCain with only a small lead here.

Another bad sign for McCain is that 54% of respondents said it's more important to bring the troops home form Iraq than it is to win the war, versus only 40% who think victory is more important than leaving -- a very bad finding for McCain in this traditionally red state.

I don't find this poll all that surprising. McCain is the 'safe' face of the economy. Age=experience to the American voter. Barack isn't attracting any attention on his plans for the economy. Very foolish.

I'll be disheartened if the Reps get in, only because I honestly believe the US needs to make a real difference in the way it looks after the health of its citizens. Health care in the US is a total lottery. If you are rich or you happen to work in a company that provides great benefits you can get excellent care, otherwise you get second rate or no care. Not very impressive and McCain wants to put an end to company health care. Horrible.

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

To bad for you that this election will be about the economy and gas prices. The war is very low on the list of priorities.

Because, of course, the economy's current state and future direction will have had nothing to do with Iraq AND nothing to do with Republican tippytoes around responsible finances.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

Or the fact that the dems solution to everything is to raise taxes.

On everyone too, right Gary?

Unless, of course, we'll pull the cash out of thin air to pay down the current mess we're in...

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.
