Why do you hang here?

I am new here but i like the fact that we all are groing through the same process. Whether some are going faster than others. It is nice to read other people's experience and learn from it. Plus, when i get that approval notice, i am going to need someone to celebrate with. It will be nice to celebrate with others who have gone through the same thing.

I was logging in like i do every day and it dawned on me...."what's the point?"

So i want to ask everyone, why do you bother coming to vj everyday? I don't mean this in a mean spirited way, i am only curious. I know there are loads of info here, but once your paperwork is filed what is to gain? We can't find any more info about our case then we can at uscis.gov.

is it the emotional support? the willingness to answer others questions?

Is it seeing other people's approvals? if so, does that excite you or depress you? or both i suspect.

i just wondered what everyone's compulsion is because i don't know about mine.

Well my reason for coming here is that i have made very good friends here.....one of which will go the extra mile to do what she can for me...she supports me emotionally when i feel down and depress.....and sometimes i just come here to see how others are coping during this stressful period

This site is more helpful than lawyer

I can count on processing dates from this site rather than uscis processing dates.

we can get emotional support and answer to our question that we don't get from USCIS customer service.

Ditto!!! I found this site by accident and just after I'd filed. But had I not been coming here, I'd know nearly nothing. If you are happy with the information USCIS provides.. that's great.. but its next to nothing! Here we can read and share "real" stories and situations. We get a better idea of the process in detail too. And if we learn enough, sometimes we might even be able to help others .. so we give and take

VJ is an incredible resource. It was a a lifesaver to me when I was trying to find out about the immigration process, it was hard to find a reliable source to all the things I needed to know and I found it all here.

I was once a self proclaimed VJ addict- but I have to admit it has lost its luster. I don't spend a fraction of the time I used to on here.

It gives me something to do in conjuction with the wait....and the support and info is terrific. I'd have to pay thousands of dollars to get this sort of information from a lawyer.
