Called to get an IIN, weird response

I just called into NVC to obtain my IIN number to pay IV Fee Bill. The agent indicated that the online payment has not been implemented yet, and I should just mail the payment.

Isn't that weird?

Also, if I mailed my AOS fee with a cashier's check, would I still be able to go to the payment site, and print barcode sheet to send in my I-864?

Please help.

Thanks.

I would call back and speak to a different agent. I called the NVC on Tuesday, asked for my invoice identification number and got it without a problem. I mailed my AOS with a cahsiers check and the status is noted as PAID. However, I cannot print a receipt or the cover letter with bar code off the site.

Thanks.

Did anyone else have any success printing barcode sheet? Hopefully I will be able to obtain the IIN when I call back this evening.

Can someone clerify this for me?

Once the AOS payment gets processes, theratically, I should be able to print the barcode sheet from the online payment site, and send in the I-864 packet. True statement?

Also, once the IV Fee bill is generated, I should be able to pay this fee online as well??

Thanks folks.

it all depend on who you talk to. some of the new people don't even know about the IIN. so don't send in your payment in the mail, just recall and pay online it faster than going snail mail

You have to keep calling until an NVC rep gives you the IIN. Once you get it, you will be able to pay for your AOS and IV bills online. Once the web site shows both bills as PAID, you should be able to print the I-864 and DS-230 coversheets. Many people here have done it successfully since the online payment option started back in April.

If you pay you AOS fee via cashier check by mail, you will have to wait for the cover letter with the bar code from NVC, The system won't let you print the cover letter online. Or you can do James shortcuts. But if you paid online, thenyou can print the cover letter with the bar code online.

Good Luck!

Thanks for your response.

I have a followup question. Let's suppose I pay the IV Fee Bill online. Once the payment is cleared, would NVC send me the DE-230 packet or expect me to download the forms, print the barcode and send it in all on my own.

I guess I am comfortable with making the payments online, but I do not want to send in the documents without NVC's notice.

What do you think?

Online is much faster, you dont have to wait for NVC, just have to wait for the Coverletter to be generate once the PAID status comes online, once you have that coverletter in your hands, you can send in your DS-230 package. Hope this is more clear!
