So now that I have my interview date (Yeah!) I need to look into booking a hotel in Montreal. If anyone can let me know what hotels are good and which are not, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a bunch!

Do you have any air miles to use up?

If you do, the Best Western Europa Downtown is very close to the embassy (1240 Drummond St. Montreal, QC H3G 1V7)

My mom and I are staying there for free cause I used up all of mine doing so...way to get rid of them!! :)

Other people have stayed at Tour Centre Ville - Across the street from Consulate and the Holiday Inn.

Downtown Montreal can get very pricey. :)

The Hyatt is close by a few blocks away but yes it is a bit pricey as well.

2011 March 31 - Sent off Naturalization pkg overnight to Texas

2011 April 1 - Arrived in Texas at 10:21 am

2011 April 1 - NOA (rec'd via snail mail April 8)

2011 April 7 - Cheque cashed

2011 May 5 - Biometrics (letter rec'd via snail mail April 15)

2011 May 9 - Placed in line for interview scheduling

2011 June 13 - Rec'd yellow letter (no change in status online)

2011 June 23 - Rec'd text that my case has been scheduled for interview

2011 August 1 - Interview (rec'd via snail mail June 27) PASSED

2011 August 3 - Rec'd email that my case has been scheduled for Oath

2011 September 1 - Oath ceremony (rec'd snail mail Aug 5)

2011 September 1 - All done, yeah.

I am staying at the Best Western Villa Marie downtown. If you have an Entertainment Book the price is $126 (plus I had enough Safeway Airmiles to get a $100 Best Western gift card so it will only cost me $26 plus taxes!!!!!)

La Tour was nice because it was so close to the consulate and it was on the cheaper side compared to others. If you get a room with an air conditioner that actually works it would be nice if cheap and convenient are what you're after. We noticed piles of ancient looking a/c units stacked up in their underground garage and some workers bringing in brand new units so it seems they're working on the issue.

Make sure you explore on foot if you're close to downtown & the old section. It's sooooo much fun!!

well... fine you don't exactly know what hotel you gonna end up to (but select the area) and you can have kickass deal.

I got the Hyatt for 79$ a night (for tonight and tomorrow :P) My sweety is coming to pick me up tonight :P

(but i didn't knew it was the Hyatt before i paid for it)

You also have priceline.com

where you can either go with the deal they have or name your own price (try 50/60% of the price they show) and see if it's accepted.

oh i forgot something.... with the 2 websites i talked about, you can of course choose the number of stars you want so... like there is no big surprise like ending up in a crappy place :)

(i just checked for if i would look hotels for today and tomorrow and there is a 4 stars for 76$ in downtown montreal)
