Hello Lago's petitioners,

My husband has been to two of his appointments for the Medical. his 3rd appointment is on July 4th and his interview is on the 7th. What does the 3rd appointment entail and will the results if any be there in time for the 7th. I was hoping the 3rd appointment was just to recieve the packet.

Thanks in advance for any assistance in this matter.

Mrs. Jibowu

My husband had to have 3 medicals, they kept losing or mixing up his blood work. On the third on a Friday he received the results and the vacination form with signatures. We went to the embassy the following Monday and they had all of his information from the meical. We did not have any problems don't worry the embassy will receive the results in time.

US Embassies usually close for US holidays and July 4th is obviously a big holiday. If they don't get the medical in time, can he request it? In Ghana, we get a copy in a sealed envelope to take to the embassy. Anyone in Nigeria have experience with this that he might be able to do something like this. They can always do the interview and review the medical later since it was a holiday, but then it lengthens the process. Well, good luck!

Lenghtening the process is what concerns me.

I will have my husband question the problem with the holiday at the embassy, since his appointment is that following Monday the 7th.

I was concerend with the recent post around medical information not being ready. He said when he was there it was extreemly busy. They wanted to schedule the appointment for the 8th of July. My husband had to plead with them.

thanks for taking the time to post.

If he is going to be given the results of the medical on the 4th then can't he give them to the CO when he has his interview?

I can think of 2 things....either they will hold the visa until they get the results or they will postpone the interview until a later date. If he has the results, I would just hand them over at the interview.

Well, Lagos still does it the way Ghana used to do it. The medical is couriered over to the embassy by the clinic. They don't give it to the petitioner. That's why I thought, he should ask if he could get it in a sealed envelope and hand deliver it cause it could get lost in the embassy after a holiday weekend.

My husband was given an envelope but Ithinkit was his x-ray. I like Zainab think it is couriered over to the embassy. My feeling is the embassy will not do the interview until the courier arrives. Kingsley's interview was done after 5p.m., while we arrived at the embassy before 7:30am. I sat outside and went to the car, pid someone to let me use the restroom and waited some more until he arrived at the turnstyle victorious. I truely belicve that the embassy will receive the medical and then they will interview him. Now I would not hold my breathe that it will happen before 3 or 4pm but they will recive the medical on the day of the appointment.

We also had an issue with the fact they were trying to schedule his last appointment ona Sunday. I looked at my phone and said"hey that's a sunday your closed" the doctor walked by and said ohhh do it for the Friday. They never look at calendars when they re-schedule.

I hope this eases your concerns.

thanks for taking the time. Yes it does ease my mind a bit. You know how it is when you just want everything to go smooth as possible. Any bump could ad a couple of weeks.

I am appreciative of the interview date though. What an amazing feeling when I got that letter. My husband didn't even go to the embassy to get the appointment.

I read where some cR1 interviews were taking 7 months. Looks like all appointments are taking the same amount of time from case complete to interview date.

Have a great day!
