I don't think its productive to vilify either Party as if one is on higher moral ground. Each Party defines itself by the issues at hand and both Parties have legitimate arguments.

In general though, conservatives believe more in people being responsible for themselves and their own families, and their own actions. A conservative will take responsibility for his/herself and not abuse the governmental system that offers too many handouts to too many leeches. I personally don't give a rat's a$$ about some drug addict living off of welfare (a.k.a. the working person's tax dollars) and don't think I should be responsible for taking care of him/her. I think a lot more prisoners should have the key thrown away, based on how many of the mother f*#$ers end up being violent repeat offenders once they get out for the second, third.....times. I think our country needs to maintain its status of having the strongest military in the world. It's a damn good defense in case some dictator decides to go psycho and come after us or an ally. I think companies (big and small) are what drives our powerful economy and they should be given preferential treatment over individual employees. Without companies, business owners, etc. (who work 10,000,000 times harder than us employees) we would be a nation of followers running around chasing our tails. My grandfather started our family's business in 1949 without a penny in his name and worked 18-hour days without drawing a paycheck for six months, and when the company was finally profitable, he continued working his a$$ off until he was 75 years old without a single handout from the government. What do I think about the government trying to over-regulate it or unions coming in and thinking they have the right to demand more and more money and shorter and shorter work weeks every day? Take a guess. I think that in order to keep our country safe, terrorists and their associates should be tortured to within an inch of their lives if that's what it takes to keep Americans safe from these worthless f*#$s. Although it's not a perfect country, I am damn f#$*ing proud to be an American.

Do I lean to the left on some issues? Yes, I do. But as you can tell, I feel very strongly about the conservative issues I believe in and won't ever change my mind on these issues. They are some of the issues that will keep me from ever voting for a Democrat.

Are you saying there are no self-made millionaires in the US? That's not a very smart thing to say.

There are thousands upon thousands of opportunities to become a self-made wealthy person here in the US. You're not wealthy because you've decided not to seize any of those opportunities and work as hard as you need to in order to become wealthy. I'm not wealthy either, but I've seen what business owners have to go through to become wealthy and I couldn't, in my right mind, do anything to try to take anything away from them. Most people don't have the slightest f*#$ing clue what stress is until you've created a successful business from the ground up.

That is correct. I started a business several years back but realized it wasn't for me. Now I'm back to being an employee. I probably won't ever be rich (unless we decide to retire in Peru), but my wife and I live pretty comfortably...and we're pretty darn happy.

For the people who can live through the ups and downs of creating a wealthy lifestyle though, I think they deserve every penny they earn.
