Eh, it's popular in many countries to think that minorities form "vote blocks"--even if the minority is of an absurd size (example: Muslims in India, whose total numbers are almost a quarter-billion).

Except on certain wedge issues, demographics seem to go all over the place as indicated during the Primaries. Hillary's camp understood this which is why they decided to use the Rovian, 'divide and conquer' strategy, which actually worked to her advantage, however, it also alienated her from a majority of Blacks in this country who were turned off by it.

BooYAH!!@! exactly...alot of people dont trust Hillary for this exact reason. I can say the majority of Blacks that I new were all for Hillary at first just cause she was a Clinton....and historically Blacks really liked Bill.......

fastforward thru the primaries the Clintons started showing some dirty tactics that many people with sense (Black White Asian, Latino whatever) were tired of. Soon the votes shifted to Obama toward the latter primaries. So if Latinos are not voting for Barack out of pure vindictiveness or animosity then thats their bad...they hurt no one but themselves. Cause either its McCAin or Obama and when it somes to the issues of illegals and reforming this problem...who do you wnat in your corner...Barack or McCain?

The wounds are still fresh and some may resent it presented as an ultimatum - even willing to damn their own future, than have someone coax them into voting for the candidate they didn't choose in the Primaries. IMO, although the 'divide and conquer' strategy worked to Hillary's advantage, it created fissures in the Party that will take time to mend. On the positive side, the evangelical demographics have shifted, and many of them are gravitating towards the Democratic Party, after years of believing the Republican Party best represented their values. Obama is on the populist side of the issues that matter most to Americans, so if continues with his message, he will bring voters towards that platform - national healthcare, a re-investment into America's future, bringing our troops home.

Populist: No core values. Says whatever the popular sediment of the moment is. When the winds change, so does he. Is that really what we want for a leader?

construction is comprised of about 90% hispanic workfoce.. I can't imagine what'd happen if one day they don't go to work, I don't predict an end-of-the world kind of situation, but it'd certainly stop the country, in one way or another..

If one day they don't go to work, someone else will.

It's like that "day without immigrants" that was supposed to paralyse the country... but no-one even noticed.

Anyway...construction is not a great business to be in right now. New home sales are down more

than 20%, and existing-home sales are not too far behind.

When housing does finally stabilize, probably in mid-2009, prices will have fallen about 15% from

their peak in mid-2006.

We can send 15-20% home today and no-one's going to notice.

I'm doing my part...my wife knows that once she can vote that she will vote Republican EVERY time.

My wife gets to decide which way she wants to vote once she becomes a citizen. It's what the right to vote is all about. For most of us, anyways.

I am half Spanish on my mother's side, so my mother's family is Latino and guess what, WE LOVE OBAMA

Mi Amigos. :D

Were her political views right leaning before you two met? Just curious.

She didn't lean either way before we met. If you want to try to talk her into voting Democrat, feel free.

I'm kind of like GW. She's my poodle. She's my McSame. I've brainwashed her. I'm evil.

Actually, she's listened to my thoughts on the two parties and she told me she would never vote for a "F#*^ing Democrat".

Sorry it isn't what you like to hear. Now let's hear what you have to say about how stupid people are who aren't going to vote for Obama.....
