Hi All,

Was wondering if anybody has translated the birth certificate by themselves instead of getting a certified copy. I had a certified copy, but they kept it when I went to for my K1 visa interview. I am married now and need to adjust my status and another copy of translated birth certificate must be sent again.

Thank you

Just what I was thinking.

Although the spouse could have been born in an other country than the UK.

In which case, yes you can translate it yourself as long as you are fluent. Use the following form at the end:

I ________________________, certify that I am fluent (conversant) in the English and French languages, and that the above/attached document is an accurate translation of the document attached entitled Acte de Naissance Copie Intégrale.
