1) Yes.

2) Ask the airlines.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

yes, in allot of areas...

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

Yes, overweight people experience discrimination because of their weight, and no, someone's weight should not determine their 'value' or 'worth'. There may, however, be economic consequences because of their weight for purely practical considerations. It does not mean they have less value or worth than someone without a weight issue.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Re: the airlines, given the current state of gas prices, it's only fair to charge more imo...flying a 140lb person and a 280 lbs person doesn't cost the same, so why should it be priced the same?

It's not nice, but it's fair...

If that is the case, why am I paying 80-90% of an adult's fare to fly a child that weighs 34lbs?

I think airlines should charge by the pound. Seriously. Base it on total weight of passenger + luggage.

Dunno. *shrug*

But do you really think it's fair that a 120 lbs person and a 400 lbs person pay the same? I dont have any answers on how they can theoretically fix it without half the world getting up in arms, but I don't really think that's fair.

Now if they let the 120 lb person bring 280lbs of extra luggage...

Strictly on airline:

If the child takes one seat, airline lost revenue of opportunity to sell the seat to full paying adult. But, the child should be allowed to take more luggage to compensate.

If the airline can charge for overweight luggage, why can't someone take advantage of credit from lower body weight?

I think discrimination only counts towards things you do not have a choice about... Being fat is not an unchangeable condition like race, gender, etc...

Well, to be fair, that's not always the case....

But I wouldn't necc call this discrimination anyways....I just googled the literal def of discrimination:

unfair treatment of a person or group on the basis of prejudice

my airline pov is A ) not unfair and B ) not based on prejudice....imo, it's based on realities like cost. Maybe don't charge the heavier person more...maybe just allow more baggage....there's a bigger profit margin on transporting a smaller person, and that is fact, not prejudice.
