Letter of intent - and other interview questions

Hello,

I've got my interview coming up in just under 2 weeks (whoop whoop  ) and have been reading through various posts to see if theres anything I might have forgotten. One thing that cropped up a couple of times were issues with the letter of intent. I've read that a couple of people were told that there letters were too old. I think the ones I've got me and my fiancee did at the very start of the process so they're probably dated some time last year! Should I knock off a couple of new ones? And also do these need to be notarised? The originals weren't but I've read that some people had theres done? (might of been for a different visa? mines the K1).

Anything else I might have forgotten for the interview? I've got:

-police checks (x2  )

-birth certs (short and long)

-all her stuff, birth cert, tax forms, letter from her bank and employee

-all the gubbins from when we first applied, evidence of a relationship etc

-copies of all the forms

-x2 photos (do i need x3?)

Think thats about it.

Cheers

hey stan!

you seem pretty much covered to me.

i had my interview tuesday and from my experience all she looked at and kept copies of was the police cert, birth certificates, tax documents, letter from his employer and she took the passport photos.

i was not asked for a letter of intent although my other half did send me a new one. not notarised just up to date.

do make sure all your documents are photocopied as they do request to see the original and the photocopy which they keep.

it was quick and painless to be honest except the waiting in between call-ups.

it was over just like that. i even asked if that was it at the end. lol

good luck

You may want to take photocopies of original docs such as birth certificates then they will keep the photocopies and not the originals, we did new letter of intents but they didnt ask for them at interview.

My understanding is that they want an updated letter of intent if your original NOA2 validity period has expired, i.e. more than 4 months since NOA2 was issued. Of course, its always better to be safe than sorry.

we completely forgot about the updated letter of intent

luckily, so did they :D

yes, the basic documents seem to be all that's required these days... haven't heard of anyone being asked for anything that wasn't on the list for quite some time :)

of course, that doesn't mean you don't want to be prepared... it's fun finding that balance between 'being personally responsible for the clearing of 7.34 square miles of virgin rainforest' and 'not having something they ask for' ;)

The Very Secret Diary of Legolas Son of Weenus - by Cassandra Claire

Day One: Went to Council of Elrond. Was prettiest person there. Agreed to follow some tiny little man to Mordor to throw ring into volcano. Very important mission - gold ring so tacky.

Day Six: Far too dark in Mines of Moria to brush hair properly. Am very afraid I am developing a tangle.

Orcs so silly.

Still the prettiest.

Day 35: Boromir dead. Very messy death, most unnecessary. Did get kissed by Aragorn as he expired. Does a guy have to get shot full of arrows around here to get any action? Boromir definitely not prettier than me. Cannot understand it. Am feeling a pout coming on.

Frodo off to Mordor with Sam. Tiny little men caring about each other, rather cute really.

Am quite sure Gimli fancies me. So unfair. He is waist height, so can see advantages there, but chunky braids and big helmet most off-putting. Foresee dark times ahead, very dark times.
