Now for the ridiculous title of this thread, it should be ''should the spouse that works also do housecleaning?'' But I don't blame you for asking that about only the man, since obviously you expect the man to be the provider and the woman to be the maid like it used to be 200 years ago and like you expect your life to be.

You've got me wrong... I love to cook, do it pretty well and wouldn't mind a stint as a housewife. Really, not at all. I don't mind cleaning so much, not as much as hubster despises it and could easily live in a mess.

You've got me wrong... I love to cook, do it pretty well and wouldn't mind a stint as a housewife. Really, not at all. I don't mind cleaning so much, not as much as hubster despises it and could easily live in a mess.

I imagine we'll share the chores depending on who gets home from work first. On the occasions we've had to spend more than a few weeks with each other we share. Sometimes he needs prompting but maybe that's just because we've both been doing things our own way for many years and now we have to share.

We will both work (at least for now) so we will both also share the household chores. But, if we have any more children and I stay home, I imagine I'll take on more of the work at home. But not all of it, because anyone who thinks that a SAHM has less to do than a working (out of the house) person is insane. And what about the moms (and dads) who work full time and take care of the kids after work?

I think like everything else in life, it all comes down to balance. And giving each other breaks once in a while.
