i-130 has been sent months before i-485 and i-765

i do not understand why they send the i-130 to national benefit center instead approve it at california center

can any body explain what is going on please

I'm assuming that it's because they wanted all the documents together to then tranmit it to the local office. It sometimes happens that the I-130 is only approved at the time of the AOS interview. That might be your case.

I wouldn't worry too much about it, you'll only be approved once both I-130 and I-485 are approved.

I agree with Cecy they likely want the whole file all together so they can process it. Has it been long since you filed?

Here is the link to information about the USCIS National Benefit Center:-)

"What is the NBC?

On April 16, 2003, USCIS Director Aguirre approved the transition of the Missouri Service Center (MSC) into the National Benefits Center (NBC). The NBC was established to serve as the hub and conduit for USCIS local field offices by completing all pre-interview processing of Forms generally requiring an interview. This pre-processing includes conducting background security checks, performing initial evidence reviews, adjudication of associated I-765 and I-131 applications (filed with the I-485 or separately), denial of adjustment of status cases for applicants who are statutorily ineligible, and forwarding scheduled cases to the USCIS local office for adjudication."

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

during the entire process of my AP and EAD until the day of its approval, every time I checked online, all it says that it was in National Benefits Center while my I-485 was in California service center. Right now, I am just glad I didn't have to undergo for an interview and just waiting for my gc to show up on mail.

We are/were in the same situation, in that our I-130 and I-485 were both showing online as being at the NBC..... and I had no idea if this was good or bad! Thanks, Kathryn, for posting the info! Since it states that it handles all the pre-interview paperwork for those who will need an interview, it makes sense to me now - we are filing AOS based on our marriage while I was in the US as a visitor, so we never had an K-1 interview. Hence, this coming Monday is our first (and hopefully only!) interview.

It is very good news, means you have been transferred to CSC and more than likely within 3-6 months you will get your GC without ever having to go to an interview. Good luck.
