Hiya people.

Well I just mailed off my I-130 and G-325a today, I have to say I have some serious mixed emotions. One one hand I am happy to start the process, I hope that we will get a miracle and get through this super fast lol well before we grow old that is  And on the other hand, I am nervous and scared that I forgot something like to sign a form or one of the hundreds of other things that could go wrong....ok I need to take a deep breath and relax...maybe a few stiff shots would help :D

Based on time line data, your I130 may be adjudicated between November 19, 2008 and December 20, 2008*.

So I am already starting to prepare for the next stages of this journey/ The fist question out of the gate is my wife worked in Brunei for around 6 months. I assume she will need to get a police certificate being she lived there. I looked up Brunei on the uscis web site and it's a little confusing as to what you need to do to get a certificate.

Police Records

Police certificates can be obtained in Brunei within approximately two weeks. When requesting a police clearance certificate, an applicant must submit the following:

Photocopy of his/her current passport.

Photocopy of his/her Brunei identity card, if available.

Evidence of the duration of the applicant's residency in Brunei.

Fee of fifty Brunei dollars.

The above items should be sent to:

The Commissioner

Royal Brunei Police Force

Gadong Headquarters

Bandar Seri Begawan

Attn: Awg Mohammad Abdullah - Translator

If the applicant lives outside of Brunei, a request for a police certificate, along with the required passport and identity card photocopies, may be sent to the Embassy by courier service.

Brunei criminal records are permanently stored in the police computer archives. The records are indexed by family name and identity card numbers

I assume she will make the request to the Philippine Embassy or the US embassy in Brunei? Or the Brunei embassy or US Embassy in the Philippines? That part is vague.

Good luck with your journey. Think of it this way, I didn't have this site until this April. At that time, my journey was already 4 months in and I was missing my husband like crazy. This is a great place to be whether you are deciding on taking that journey, are in the process of that journey, or you have completed the journey. There is so much support and so much information, you have definitely come to the right place. Once again, good luck.

Best,

Przy

Hi rm,

You may also need to look into the need for sending finger prints along with the other stuff.I dont know about Brunai but most countries require these to process the Cert.I am researching this for my wife also coz she worked in HK for a few years and needs a cert also.Good Luck & Good Hunting

It is my understanding that it must be sent to the police.Someone told my wife she recieved her cert from HK after she had her interview and got paper from the CO to request the cert.the cert was then sent directly to the USEM.Meanwhile she was on adminreview. After the USEM got the cert they ok'd/released her visa. This is second-hand info from a friend of my wife so I will continue to search for more reliable intel. When we are at the USEM july7 for our son's CRBA appt I will ask aboiut this and post asap.
