I have an Interview for July.I noticed that most people get asked about Green Card/ID at the interview, does anyone have any experience with showing an out of state driver license?...

My interview is in Portland,OR and my license is from IL...

Your advice or experience would be helpful...

Thanks.

I think you should be fine. For example students often have out of state licenses. If you are concerned, get a new license. You will probably have to redo the vision exam, pay the fee and thats it.

Have you filed AR-1, and I-865 since moving?

Out of state DL wont be a problem, though most states consider you to not be a resident of their state until you change it.

I disagree.... You can be issued a *ticket* for not changing your license (DL & Auto) after you obtain residency by default.

YMMV

Accepted, NY allows up to 90 days after claiming residency to get DL changed.

Thanks you guys!...

I am not sure of OR laws, but I dont consider my self and resident since I am here temporarily doing research for a company then back to grad school....

I have not filed any of the AR-1, and I-865 NickD mentioned also....

In some instances it does matter what you consider but in other instances it does not matter what you think... It is all about your actions... If you understand the residency requirements of the state you are temporarily residing in and do not "accidentally" trigger something then you ought to be able to maintain your current residence.

YMMV

Yes you're right!!! I can also prove to them that my current resident is temporary since my employer letter states thesame thing that I will be grad student reseacher staring...XXX till XXX dates...so it will not really makes sense to change driver license to every state you move to even though one will be staying there for 5- 6 months only and returning to school...

So I think this would become an issue if I claim residency here, and have an out of state D.L...besides,if I could remeber correctly, they never asked about Driver license # on the application, and one is even allowed to transfer cases from one DO to another...
