--- I'm assuming that this includes property tax? We let one of our investment homes go into foreclosure last year, and since we knew that it was going that direction anyway, we just didn't bother paying for the property tax. ***SIGH***

I guess this will probably pose a threat then, right?

• Documentation from the IRS or state or local tax office showing the current status of your repayment program.

Depending on your city, township, county, and/or state statues, you can still be liable for the due property taxes whether you let your property go to foreclosure or not. And they can go after property or other goods you still own. Even filing bankruptcy may not forgive a tax debt, would consult with a good tax attorney to save future problems.

thanks nickd. so basically, i think what i want to know at this point is, once we've settled the overdue property tax that we owe the city, will i be able to continue on applying for citizenship? i'm really hesitant to call USCIS, only because there's not that many "nice" operators. and sometimes, they just answer a question without really knowing, just to satisfy you... know what i mean?

Your question is, do you have a tax liability? That you should leave to your tax attorney and answer the N-400 accordingly.
