Other than the waiting, this was so much easier than getting my marriage visa march 2007..

His appointment was at 8:30.. we arrived at the embassy just before 8am.. Joined the queue and was through security by 8:20... very short queue to get his 'number' .. then directed up stairs into waiting room where we waited for approx. 30 minutes.. called to window 1.. she was very friendly! handed over all the documents as they requested.. finger prints scanned in.. only took 1 of the 2 photo's that we thought we needed.. was sent to pay our $400 (just for anyone who cares...they seemed to like the cash payment as when she asked how we were paying...we said cash.. she replies "good!") took the reciept back to window 1 where we were first called.. and was given a pink form and a US immigration information booklet (pink form was for the sms ) waited for another 35-40 minutes until we were called to window 16 for the interview... I did go with him up to the window.. she scanned his left finger prints again and then 'swore him in' .. and asked me to let him answer all the questions.. She asked.. How long he has known me.. How long we were married and where we got married and what his longest stay in the US was... It seemed to me she was trying to make it all seem like general conversation.. which made it a bit less nerve racking.. as she was checking over the documents (affidavit etc) she asked questions about them.. relation of the joint sponsor... and that was basically it for the questions... then of course.. she turned to me and asked where my tax papers were.... ( i didn't file last year because i have been living in the UK and didn't really make enough to bother with it.. but she still insisted that she have the last years transcript from when i last filed) Helpfully pointed out that there was an IRS on the opposite side of the building and they were able to give me what i needed.. went back to window 16 and gave them the IRS papers and asked me to sign a declaration (last time i filed was 2003...didn't make enough in 2004-2007 to HAVE to file.. )... she congratulated us.. told us we'd have our visa within 5 working days.. and told us to go to the SMS to give them the shipping info and to pay for it.. ( 14 pounds for single applicant and he paid an additional 5 pound 50 to get it by 12pm) both people who worked with us were absolutely great and made it so easy!

I know its all long and ran together.... but i can't be bothered fixing it.. we're about to start looking for our flights! (hopefully for wednesday of next week) :D
