naa we live in harmony....

just imagine the hood..

i walked from my aptmnt to the next block on the right.. there's a chinese herbal store, a dominican bar and restaurant, next door is a el salvador food restaurant with a vietnamese kitchen next to it.. and went straight into the middle eastern market/butchery/restaurant.. where i got my shoarma prepared by 2 mexicans (the owners are middle eastern though), and drank my egyptian tangerine schweppes...

on the other side of the street of course is full of indian and mexican convenience stores

Ah. Bliss.

Rebecca, you need to move to an area with all kinds of widely diverse shops and restaurants. I remember talking about the neighborhood I live in with all of the different ethnic shops and your reaction was the same.

it's awesome

I'd head back to the Rez in Alaska - nothing worth taking there - last place on earth rioters would show up. Actually, probably where a lot of the loot would end up. . . . . it's a temporary plan before people started heading out there to get their sh*t back.

And hubby has been planning for the apocalypse for years with a large assortment of guns and ammo. We'd be safe for a few years.

Play a rendition of myself singing an Ian Tyson song--loudly, on a badly-maintained player.
That's just sad.
Eh, the rioters will wish that I'd chosen to torture them to death instead

I was in northern India during the post-Babri religious riots. I was 17. Our neighborhood was all Hindu, the cops were nowhere to be found so the older guys of the neighborhood basically parked their trucks all around and put up a barrier... and everyone in the neighborhood took turns, 24/7, standing guard... there were mostly burning torches and bottles, but some of the people had guns. One of the guys in the neighborhood was ex-army and he was armed to the freakin' teeth. He kept to himself though, but he told us he's watching. We saw some rioters from afar but no one came in our direction. Interesting times.

Man is made by his belief. As he believes, so he is.
