Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

By the way,,,, whats a good website to shop for discount ammo, given the current situation, it might be wise to boost my meager supply.

Mostly looking for some for my cheap, yet comfortable SKS.

You should try Classic Arms. Search the Google for a link. They are located in western NC, so not far from you, and have good brass cased Yugo 1970's surp at about $235 / case of 1240 (?).

Aim Surplus also has some in stock, but is in Ohio, so shipping would be higher. Century Intl Arms in Florida is out, baby.

It's funny to me when people wanna ban "too much ammo" or "too many guns."

Last time I checked, most of us only had two hands. Folks who shoot guns will tell you those two hands are usually used at the same time to fire only one gun. For some reason, people are led to believe that anyone who owns a large quantity of guns is "more dangerous" than someone who only owns one. Shooters will tell you to "fear the man with only one gun" for he knows how to use it. Someone else must be pushing this "more guns = more danger" theory. Who could that be?

"Too much ammo." Hmm. That's interesting. I wonder, of all the accidental deaths, of all the criminal shootings, gang warfare, and if we really wanna inflate our numbers we'll include police shootings as well, how many of those who were shot were shot with more than only a couple bullets? Is someone "more dead" if you shoot them with more shots? Yet, here we go again, "if someone has 20,000 rounds of ammo out in their shed, they're a nutjob or they're 'more crazy' than someone who only has 20 rounds of ammo." Where does that come from?

You as a logical person can understand that one person with one gun can be extremely dangerous. But, why does one person with 100 guns and 10,000 rounds of ammo cause "huge concern" in the community?

Where does that come from?

 i've never understood that either, why someone with a large quantity of ammo is considered an outlaw. i must be an outlaw, i've got over 20,000 rounds here

distance to the targets?

my guess for the wide groups on the above was too hot a load.

100 yards. Public range in a county park in south central Penna.

Their patterns were more likely result of flinch. Needless to say, the woodchucks in York County were safe from these guys.

IIRC, I was shooting Speer 165 grs boat tail in scaled Lake City cases with a CCI 500 standard primer and about 42 grains Hodgdon BL-C2 powder. Ball-C2 was designed for the case with 147 gr spitzer, so the load was close to design ideal. The fun load was 46 grains of H335 with a 130 grain spitzer. Smoking, even out of an 18" barrel. I usually held a few of those in case someone shooting autoloader sat on my left and started throwing cases at me. Would get just about anybody to move away.

they was doing something wrong, even i with an open sights winchester model 94 30-30 can do better than they were.

I can think of a few reasons:

Bigger?

Stronger?

More highly trained?

A better shot?

Or more simply... Bigger guns...

So.... the guy with the "bigger guns" is more dangerous than the guy with the two handguns?

Define "more dangerous" for me real quick. Also, relate that to whom this guy with the "bigger guns" is "more dangerous" to, please.

Or maybe he was putting together an army of nutjobs and this was for all of them.

So, there was going to be a concerted effort to break the law? That's what makes them nutjobs? But yet when a "lawless mob" assembles, they're just "irritated" but not "nutjobs" right?

"It's OK to be mad and angry and flip over cars, start houses on fire, break windows and such.... as long as nobody has any guns."

I spent this past weekend at the gun show. You'd be shocked how much ammo costs now. Just in the past month, the cost of .223 has gone up around 35%. I was able to find a few good deals but not like you could in, say, October. (Hmmmm. Wonder why.)

7.62X39 is still, by far, the cheapest milsurp ammo you can get. The rifles now are outrageous. My buddy bought the cheapest Yugo at the show, and that was for $250. A year ago you could've bought two for that price.

If you really wanna stock up on ammo, you can find some good deals on the sites above, just keep in mind that unless you're ordering in bulk (several thousand) you're going to get hosed on the shipping. Ammo is heavy. SKS ammo is really heavy! If you're only looking to get a couple hundred rounds or even 1,000, the gun show is probably the best bet. Just do your homework first as sometimes the price will double from one vendor to the next. Also, bring a luggage cart or bookbag to put it in. There's nothing worse than carrying around 1,000 rounds!
