This thread gets weirder and weirder.

I'm not sure I'm understanding how Mr Shooter's amateur psych "insights" about others are any more profound than other's about him - save of course that he's the only one who seems to be trying to apply a pseudo-scientific rationale for old fashioned stereotypes.

It does, and I think that's fantastic. I am sorry that Mr Shooter is rather too busy to spread his message of joy to the world right now, but I feel sure he'll be back with some more gems

he is reloading

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

PD, invite justashooter for coffee on Saturday. You pick the place, I am sure he will be happy to show up, anything for the opportunity to "save" you. Just pick the venue wisely. If you know what I mean.

seriously, anyone with the name 'justashooter" does not seem like they want to use words to 'save' you

so the name goes back about 20 years. in the early 80's i had a job that involved shooting at moving targets and was regarded as good at it. when i left that job i took up paper punching in search of accuracy, and with good result. it was theraputic to shoot without pressure, pure, in a way.

on afternoon i was at a range shooting paper targets with a remington 600 bolt action rifle in 308 win caliber. the rifle and i had spent a lot of time together, and i had experimented with reloads tailored for it, glass bedded the barrel channel and lugs, etc. i had about $400 in the package, but lots of time with it.

some fellows showed up and spread $2000 rigs out on the benches next to my friend and i. weatherbys, sakos, whatever, all with heavy glass. immediately they said they were woodchuck hunters and asked what we hunted. my friend said he was a squirrel hunter, and i said i was just a shooter.

the newbs picked out a manila target, and selected red, green, and blue 1" discs to stick on it for aiming points, and offered me the yellow one. damned close to manila, and i had a 4X, while they were wearing 6X24 heinsoldt and such over 224 weatherby mag and 22-250 or 220 swift.

i watched the first shots go out from the sandbagged "woodchuck hunters" through an old pair of 16X naval binocs. each of the 3 nimrods printed a 3-4" diameter 5 shot group from a full rest. come my turn, i took the first shot from a sandbag, the second sitting on the shooting bench with knees drawn up, the third kneeling, the fourth prone, and the fifth offhand.

i looked at the target thru the binocs to confirm what the scope had said. none of the newbs had binocs, so we walked up to the target together. my five shots were in a cluster that would have been under a dime, with the fifth a flyer opening the group to just over an inch. my buddy said, "he's just a shooter", and we left the range. he told the story to some friends, and the name kind of stuck, when i first hit the net some years later after a friend signed me onto a shooting sports forum that no longer exists it was the name he chose.

I thought only James Bond and Comic book villains "monologue"

Apparently not. It's quite exciting, in a somewhat burlesque fashion.

so i told you how i got my name because you made an incorrect assumption about it.

gonna tell me how you got yours, or want us to just assume that you use it because you have an annoying accent and claim to be something you aren't?

See, here's the thing, no one asked you why you chose that applet. Some made connections that remain valid even with your 'explanation' but, you don't get that, in the same way that you don't get why some people find you funny or annoying or a combination of both.

Seriously dude, this is not a therapy session, I don't want to know all this 'stuff' about you.
