Hello,

So, I got the DS-156.. but was it a mistake? Someone else I know didn't get it. I am applying for CR-1, she is too. DS-156 is an application for a nonimmigrant visa. This makes no sense. Do I need it? Please answer if you know for sure from former experience or elsewhere.

No you dont need it. What you need is DS-230.

About the forms - I know some people need both DS-156 and DS-230.. Wonder why I received it then. hmm..

I was under imression that everybody fills out DS156. It is if you go for the interview in the Embassy though. If you're in the States, it's probably different. Just make sure.

No, I am going to the consulate.. so, anyone else know this for sure? Looks like a split opinion. I know K-3's and K-1's fill it out, but CR-1's??? I am confused. I thought I didn't need it, but then it was in my packet. Maybe by mistake, maybe not.
