Lima Peru - Affidavit of Support - I-134 or I-864

I see in the example packet for Lima Peru that the papers ask for the I-864 Affidavit of Support. I also see some post of people who have had the interview in Lima, Peru and these people say that they used the I-134 Affidavit of Support.

Which is the correct Affidavit of Support to use, I-134 or I-864? Or do I need to use both?

Thank you.

Standard reply

non immigrant visas ("K") - I-134

immigrant visas ("IR/CR") - I-864

Wait, for a K3 visa we have to do the I-134 and for the Immigrant visa we do the I-864? So we will have to do both eventually???

Yep! With a K visa you use the I-134 for the embassy interview and the I-864 to adjust status.

CR/IR doesn't use the I-134. Only I-864 all the way.

K1 denied, K3/K4, CR-1/CR-2, AOS, ROC, Adoption, US citizenship and dual citizenship

!! ALL PAU!

Wow! Thank you. So I read somewhere that a retired person cannot sponsor someone into the US? I am not retired, but my father is and his pension and ss make him well over the 125% for his household to joint sponsor for my husband. I guess I am just wondering if I am going about this all wrong or ... wow... I am not even sure what to say... how does one change from a k3 to a cr? I really want the Immigrant Visa, but I just wanted him here quicker.
