Congratulations for the approvals and patience for the ones still waiting

We received a request for further information last week, they say my medical records are not in their files

and that I need to re-submit them.

We live in a rural area and the nearest approvel civil surgeon is 6-7 hours drive. I am traying to set up an appointment with him but at the same time I send an e-mail to the American Embassy in my home country to see if they can send a copy (I got this tip on visajourney). We hope to get this done in the next few weeks.

Hi, my husband and I sent in my application in late July and I just wanted to share our interview experience today (Dec. 2) in Mt. Laurel, NJ. It was fairly easy and breezy. Our appointment was for 1:15, got there at 1:00 went through the security and waited for 10 minutes for my name to be called. The officer swore us in and asked for identification and asked my husband how we met and why we waited 5 years to apply for AOS, we told her for financial reasons and she lectured us about that. She asked for our children's birth certificates, proofs of cohabitation, and our 2007 tax return. She made copies and filed everything, after that stamped my passport and told us to expect my 10 year green card in the mail. We were there for about a half hour. The whole experience was not what I expected but I'm not complaining. The whole AOS process did not take that long, about 4 months which is great! Good luck to all those waiting!

congrats on your greencard!! paul got his EAD in the mail, he is applying to jobs online now, he cant waiiit to work i hope it wont be too had here to find a job im still suppper excited and happy thoughh

IT'S HERE!!!

It came in the mail today, even though I just got notice last week that the letter had gone out and the card should get mailed out within 60 days.

This was so unexpected, it must have gone out at the same time as the letter, though my case status only mentioned the letter and that the card would be later. When my hubby pointed it out when I was rushing out the door going back to work after dinner, I squealed and jumped up and down and kissed him a lot, but now I'm amazed.

I'm just kinda in shock. It's hard to convince my innards that I don't have to worry about this malarky for the next two years.

Just ... wow.

Woooo !! Congratulations for all the green cards, work authorization and interview letter received ! That's great news !!!

On my side, I just finished my first contract in the industry and it was awesome ! I made a couple of great industry contacts and got some $ at the same time !

It will also allow me to start the 1/6 part of an online program i really wanted to do in January while working on perhaps my second contract !

I wish I would get that interview letter soon !

Hi Everybody !

I have not been here for a long time; actually after the first RFE we got a second one and even thought it was a minor detail about translation it took more than 2 months to have things back on track.

Finally I got my EAD Card approved today!

I was in the same boat as you with the RFE - but mine was backlogged due to my in-laws b/c I needed their tax return for 2007. I'm happy to say that I FINALLY received my AP and EAD in the mail!! This is most definitely the best Christmas EVER. I just wanted to go home for the holidays and that's what I'll be doing! Unfortunately, the job market is ####### right now, and not many ppl hire near the end of the year, so let's hope for some luck in the new year!

Btw - how long did it take from receiving your AP/EAD until you got your GC? And how were the interviews? Have any of you tried travelling back home? If so, what was the process like??

Wow... grats to all those who have completed this or have an interview scheduled...

My husband's case still reads: We received your application for (AOS/AP/EAD) on July 25, 2008.

We received the biometics appointment stuff and completed that in August. Received RFE for medicals and Affadavit of Support additioinal information in August as well, responded, and still, all three accounts are still showing the pending status since July. Anyone have any luck getting that on-line status updated?
