Q: I have my interview scheduled for 12/4 @12:30 pm...I have a son (5yrs old) that'll be in school (kindergarten til 2:55pm) and a daughter (2 yrs old) that's at home with me...Is it ok if my daughter came to the interview with us? Don't have anyone to watch her, thought about keeping my son home from school and bringing him also but figured might as well leave him in school (we should be through with the interview by the time he gets out...the office is about 45 mins from my house)....What do you guys think?/ Will they frown upon it if my daughter is with us?

HI there I dont think that will be a problem..thats your daughter..its just me...

HI there I dont think that will be a problem..thats your daughter..its just me...

That's what I said...but not sure if it would've been a problem, you know how kids sometimes don't sit still long enough sometimes to get a word in...although my daughter is pretty good when we go out but put both of them (my son and daughter) in the same room, i'm not so sure how "quiet" the IO's want it or if they take kindly to having kids present...they aren't rude just restless when they have to wait to long with no activity to keep their minds occupied...one reason why i'm leaving him in school and just make plans for someone to pick him up for me if we're not back in time..

I was wondering the same thing... how long should we wait before contacting USCIS. My husband's AOS was touched on 8/5... nothing since.

Any suggestions?

Hi there, fellow July filers!

Hope all is good! I'm starting to get worried about my AOS. I haven't been able to check my status online since I got the NOAs. And I haven't received any letter saying it's been transferred or what's going on.

I received the travel doc and the EAD about a month and a half ago though.

Do you have any suggestions? What can I do?

3/24/11 Received 10 year Green Card in the mail - Done. Feels good :-) 'till we do this again for US Citizenship.

12/5/11 mailed packet for Naturalization

12/9/11 was received by USCIS.

4/6/12 received letter for fingerprint appn.

4/23/12 9am fingerprint appointment - done :-)

4/30/12 Recieved Letter for Interview - Sche. 5/31

5/31/12 Interview & Testing

5/31/12 Testing Approved - Waiting for next step

6/21/12 Rcvd email, placed application in the oath sched. que :-)

6/25/12 Rcvd letter - Oath Ceremony is on 7/11/12 @ 9:15am :-)

We had our interview today and i think all is good pending a letter I need to get from the family dr due to some misleading notes written in my original medical. The officer said once I send that in he will issue my card in the mail. The interview was very straight forward and relaxed, it was in an office not an interview room as such and the officer was very pleasant and easy to talk with. One thing that he did say was regarding my medical (Done in the UK in Feb) it was a good thing we applied for our AOS before August. He said the medical is only good for 6 months and so we got the application in on time. I thought it was 12 months, just thought I would mention that for future reference. Working on the letter for the Dr now, should have that soon, we have been given until December 19th, I expect it to be send in well before then. Will update when have more info. Fyi Interview was at the Portland office Oregon, our interview was for 10.30, we were seen at 10.50 and were done by 11.20.

On November 18, 2008, we mailed you a notice that we had registered this customer's new permanent resident status. Please follow any instructions on the notice. Your new permanent resident card should be mailed within 60 days following this registration [...] "

I guess this means we were approved without an interview? Thank you, transfer to CSC!

Someone confirm this in fact means my 2 year GC is approved and en route to me so I can jump up and down in happiness after a hard day!

I guess they had a busy day!!! :

Current Status: Notice mailed welcoming the new permanent resident.

Congrats -- I hope this means we're next in line. It looks like we were all transferred to CSC from Chicago around the same time, but so far there's been no action on ours at all since then.

More frustrating is that the processing time for CSC shows June 2006 -- but it's only for "employment-based adjustments". Why can't they show the time for ©(9) adjustments?? Any thoughts on how much longer we should wait before we start calling to see if they forgot about us?

8/07 2008 - Checks cashed

8/08 2008 - NOA Received (I-130 & I-485)

8/08 2008 - Application Rejection Letter received for I-765 (Outdated form that expires 08/31/08!!!)

8/11 2008 - Biometrics Notification for August 28th

8/14 2008 - New I-765 received by V. Bustamente

8/18 2008 - Tried a walk-in Biometrics but office closed(!!)

8/19 2008 - CRIS email. RFE #1

8/23 2008 - RFE Letter. Birth Certificate (wth?!?)

9/09 2008 - NOA for I-765 received

9/12 2008 - EAD Biometrics notice for 9/29

9/16 2008 - CRIS email. RFE received on 9/11 and case resumed.

9/26 2008 - EAD Biometrics completed and touched online.

I think it should be ok but maybe you should find out from USCIS just to be on the safe side.
