But seriously, what's the rush for the greencard? Most of the July filers have their EAD's and AP's, so then it's all good. As long as you can work and travel, there is really nothing to be stressed out about. Everybody's turn will come eventually. There are much bigger problems in the world than not getting a greencard very quickly. We need to put things into perspective. My wife was also getting stressed out over the process, but once she got her EAD and AP, she's well again.

I haven't seen any update on my cases since 9/26 (which was Biometrics) but today I checked CRIS just because I was bored and this is what I see:

Application Type: I765, APPLICATION FOR EMPLOYMENT AUTHORIZATION

Current Status: Card production ordered.

Hurray!!!

7/928 2008 - Mailed packet (I-130, I-485 & I-765)

7/31 2008 - Packet arrives at the Chicago lockbox

8/07 2008 - Checks cashed

8/08 2008 - NOA Received (I-130 & I-485)

8/08 2008 - Application Rejection Letter received for I-765 (Outdated form that expires 08/31/08!!!)

8/11 2008 - Biometrics Notification for August 28th

8/14 2008 - New I-765 received by V. Bustamente

8/18 2008 - Tried a walk-in Biometrics but office closed(!!)

8/19 2008 - CRIS email. RFE #1

8/23 2008 - RFE Letter. Birth Certificate (wth?!?)

9/09 2008 - NOA for I-765 received

9/12 2008 - EAD Biometrics notice for 9/29

9/16 2008 - CRIS email. RFE received on 9/11 and case resumed.

9/26 2008 - EAD Biometrics completed and touched online.

11/07 2008 - EAD Card production ordered.

11/08 2008 - Interview Notice for December 09th.

11/20 2008 - EAD arrived in mailbox and work resumed.

12/09 2008 - Interview. AOS approved and card production ordered.

12/10 2008 - AOS Touched.

12/12 2008 - AOS Touched again.

12/15 2008 - AOS Touched a third time (which usually means the card is in the mail! Hurray!)

Even thoughhe has his EAD, my husband has been told point blank that his lack of a green card has been a mitigating circumstance in his employment (or lack thereof). Many employers here look at the GC as the litmus test of employability.

I have wondered about this too. Whilst I have been able to obtain a seasonal cashiering job. I do wonder if the fact I don't have a green card has made employers, prefer those who do have a green card over me.

I know with one interview I had. They seemed to like me, until they realized I did not have a green card.

My husband was rejected because he didn't have the GC. We gave them copies of his SS card and EAD, but they said that they couldn't except him because of it. This is the reason that I really want him to get his GC because it is a good job. :unsure:

hello everyone. just a little update:

we went to an infopass appointment today to check where our case was. the IO was nice enought to tell us the he passed the FBI name and finger print checks. good news. also, that at the end of october there is a note in our case file that says its ready to be scheduled for an interview. so now we just have to wait for the letter. While i'm sad we have to do an interview. i'm glad that they at least know where our case is.

07/11/08 Recieved NOA1's for I-485, I-765, and I-131

07/26/08 NOA1 for biometric on 08/14/08
