Question....my husbands SS card states that he needs authorization to work, does yours say that?

He is having trouble getting a job he applied for because they don't accept that social security because it has the text on it. He even showed them the EAD and they still won't take it. Isn't this weird?

Anyway, we went to the SS office to see what we could do and they said that they could only change the card when he gets his green card.

That's normal. Until the greencard comes, the SS card will be restricted, so he'll need authorization from DHS.

It's not normal that potential employers won't accept it with an EAD. An EAD is exactly what the restriction is asking for... DHS authorization. The EAD is issued by DHS (Dept of Homeland Security), it even says so at the very very top.

I KNOW!!!! I am so upset, but I guess it was not meant to be.

They all say the same until you get your GC. WITH DHS WORK AUTHORIZATION ONLY. I got a job yesterday and I still don't have my SSC

Don't let the choices chose you, chose the choices that you want.

Hey Congratulations for that interview, you're very lucky.

I just wanted to note, I received my AP yesterday in the mail, I thought it was strange because I hadn't received any notification on my email (I signed up in USCIS webpage for emailing updates in my cases), so I went to the USCIS site today, logged in, and there was the updates, it even says my EAD was approved!!!!

Well, just to let you know guys, this is another random thing in USCIS... their notifications, don't always work. But anyway, I think I'll have to start my job search... I was getting used to my relaxed days at home! hehe

Bye and good luck to all!

Darren's AOS was last touched September 23 (ostensibly arriving at CSC). We have heard nothing since. Is this a normal occurence?
