Ok, I called up USCIS. this lady had no idea what she was talking about. She said I have to wait another three months to hear from them. It is crazy. I have been waiting for over 80days.

She asked me my zipcode and she checked the processing time. She said, oh now the office is processing April16th application. So you have to wait another 3 months.

What?????? I do not get it.

And the local office has nothing to do with my AOS. I filed my AOS in NBC. Not a local office. I went to the local office to do biometric. and my case is still at NBC.

I talked to three other customer service reps last weeks and all of them said I should do service request after I do not hear anything within 90days.

But, this lady says I have to wait for 6 months for EAD.

Crazy. I want to cry. I am so devastated.

I did some research on the data on the K1-AOS July filers spreadsheet. I found that for all dates (e.g. approval dates of AOS, EAD and AP) the NOA date works as a better indicator than the date of biometrics. I'm tempted to say that it has no use to do walk-in appointment unless you cannot make it on the scheduled date.

AP-approval: Average: 60 days from NOA1

Standard Dev: 5 days

EAD-approval: Average: 65 days from NOA1

Standard Dev: 6 days

reception GC: Average: 81 days from NOA1

Standard Dev: 7 days

Would that mean that following is what is happening: ;)

AP-approvals for cases with NOA1 from 08/06/2008 t/m 08/16/2008

EAD-approvals for cases with NOA1 from 07/31/2008 t/m 08/12/2008

reception GC for cases with NOA1 from 07/14/2008 t/m 07/28/2008

I did this just for fun so no guarantees.

lol Manufred....

Be careful... the AOS so far are ONLY for people who got transferred...

who knows about the one who are not transfered and for those, i would recommend to check out what's going on at their local office through the VJ stats.

true that... walkin biometric does not help, it's just convenient for some

the point is to have the biometric done at some point or another i think

- Take that back, just got an update today - Current Status: Notice mailed welcoming the new permanent resident. I should have checked that first, lol.

so glad that i can see my AOS updates now it was transfered on the 8th and touched on the 9th :)

when were you guys able to see ur EAD online the process of that?? I can see the AOS and track that just fine but when i put in the number for EAD shows that it hasn't been updated yet and or invalid. When you could see it what did it say? just processing?

Susie, appearance of cases online are totally random.

Some will see it straight away (NOA1), some will see it after biometric and some will never see it.

Same things with touches.

For example i was on the lucky ones to see my 3 files directly online (at NOA1 reception)

No touches... until approval for EAD/AP

and all my K1 process went through without any touches either...

Wich all makes me think it's totally random.

Just wanted to add I was offered a job yesterday. The pay isn't great (between his income as a grad student and mine, we'll have about $500 a month in play money once all bills and living expenses are taken care of) but it's a job, and it's a 3 minute walk from my house.

Yay for EAD! I'm happy to have gotten so much done since getting my card. My AP came a few days after my EAD. Now if they would just get a-touchin' on my AOS ... :P

K-1

03/09/2006: Sent I-129F

Screwed up my interview date, given NOVEMBER, fixed, promised Dec or Jan

06/02/2008: Interview date, medical now expired! APPROVED!

23/01/2008: New Medical done, WHERE THE @#$%! IS IT, DID THE MAILMAN LOSE IT?! (It arrived 30 min after I left for MTL, 1 week overdue. KISS MY LEFT FOOT, AFTER IT'S BEEN WEDGED UP YOUR HINEY AND LOST IT'S STILETTO, CANADA POST!)

14/02/2008: VISA IN HAND!!

18/05/2008: POE - Harassed by ignorant and incompetent Customs Official who grilled me until I answered that the reason why I broke up w/ my Ex was not to date my USC but b/c he was "impotent from a porn addiction". He also insulted my husband's motives for talking to me, dismissed our 2 years together as "not enough to get married", and otherwise trotted out the Spanish Inquisition.
