Is this a standard response or does it depend on your case? And if any of you fellow vj'ers out there received a letter like this did you receive a response in the 60 days stated?

***On August 19, 2008, we received your response to our request for evidence. We will notify you by mail when we make a decision or if we need something from you. If you move while this case is pending, call customer service. You should expect to receive a written decision or written update within 60 days of the date we received your response unless fingerprint processing or an interview are standard parts of case processing and have not yet been completed, in which case you can use our processing dates to estimate when this case will be done.***

You both have at least 2-3 weeks before you can do anything. It hasn't been 90 days yet. Just relax and let things take their natural course.

why aren't you driving? I've been driving since I got here...you can still drive on the license you have. The DMV website says that a PERMANENT resident must get their driver's license within 10 days. We are TEMPORARY residents...it is a bit of a grey area...once I get my SSN, I am off to the DMV to do the written part of the exam then the practical shortly after...

Good luck...

jen

hi. i went to dmv a few days after my arrival to secure state id and driver's license. i was told that i have to wait for my ead before i can get the two. i was also told i can't use my philippine license.

i actually told my husband that the policy on foreigner's driving in the us is a grey area and that i can always argue my case should an officer pull me over. alas, my hubby is a god-fearing, law abiding citizen, and says, i should wait till i get my us license, arguing further that when he was in manila, i drove all the time and he didn't argue at all! hay!

just a few more weeks of waiiting i hope... that or one day i'd drive without telling my husband! ha ha ha:)
