i got tired of waiting for mailman with my ead, and since my account can't be accessed in the uscis website, i did the next best thing, i called the uscis this morning.

i was able to talk to a lady staff, but after giving her a few info to ascertain my identity, she transferred me to another dept. she was pretty nice and courteous. the next staff i talked to was a guy. again, i was asked for a few things to prove my identity: name, alien number, address, etc. etc.

essentially, he had nothing new to say, other than what i already knew, that they received my applications 30th of july; that i had my biometrics 26th of august. he said, if i won't receive my ead by november, i should call again! hmnnn....

oh yes, at least he told me that there appears to be nothing wrong with the papers i sent, it's just that they are processing a lot.

just venting.... i can't wait to drive again..it has been frustrating not being able to go to the grocery on my own since i dont have a license here yet... and yes, i can't wait to work again... and shop without feeling guilty that i'm spending my husband's hard earned money...

why aren't you driving? I've been driving since I got here...you can still drive on the license you have. The DMV website says that a PERMANENT resident must get their driver's license within 10 days. We are TEMPORARY residents...it is a bit of a grey area...once I get my SSN, I am off to the DMV to do the written part of the exam then the practical shortly after...

Good luck...

Same here. I cannot drive. I went to DMV. They said no. Since I came here with K1 and has only three months to expire. They cannot let people take any exams unless people have some evidence that they can stay in the US legally for at least year. So it sucks. I went there and paid $23 and got a temporary ID. But, it was expired when my k1 visa was expired.

I kept calling USCIS and they are just so slow.

It frustrates so much. I cannot even think straight. I hate to see this much gap among July filers. There are July filers who filed before me who have not got their EADs.

What is going on?

Not only me. My husband is also so frustrated because the economy is so screwed up that it is just so hard for him to feed me and take care of everything.

7/19 AOS package has been mailed

7/21 AOS package was arrived in Chicogo.

7/28 NOA1 for AOS, EAD, AP

When nothing came in the mail today, I called the number on the page with information about each case (the receipt number links): (800) 375-5283. After continuing in English, I chose option 2: to check the status of an application. Option 1 is for if you know your receipt number, but it wouldn't accept my receipt number (it kept telling me that I hadn't entered enough digits), so I chose option 3, which is for if you've lost your receipt number.

To clarify the above:

- The first selection is option 1 for English (the other choice is Spanish).

- After that, the second selection is option 2: to check the status of an application.

- The third selection should be option 1: if you know your receipt number. But since it wouldn't accept my receipt number, I went to option 3 at this stage: if you've lost your receipt number.

Hey, I called up USCIS right now. A pretty nice lady picked up the phone. OK, on the website, they are now processing July 31st application. So, I told that to the lady. She said people who are waiting over 70days should call up and do service request. I have to wait for three more days to do so. And she said it depends on the officers. But, we should be approved soon. Again, I have no RFE.

The person I talked to said that she could put in a service request if it had been 60 days since I'd heard anything. She also said that the system may or may not accept a service request, but it did for me, perhaps because it had been over 60 days since the last action on my files.

I know we're all eager to move forward, but personally, I wouldn't call USCIS unless it has been at least 60 days since you've heard anything or about 75 days since you filed. Up to 75-78 days isn't uncommon lately. But I hadn't seen any at 80+ days recently without any touches or RFEs, which is why I finally called. If we all call when it's been 70 days, they might stop looking into our files until we've been waiting much longer.

And for anyone reading this thread down the road, note the typical times for people who filed around the same time that you did. It might be taking 85-95 days on average then. Or 60-75. Whatever it is, the typical range for people who filed when you did is what to go by.

I file the same day as you do. I got my EAD now. I guess they are not organized,. Sorry about what happen. maybe this week you will get some good news... Good luck...

Thanks. :) I've been thinking it would be any day now since the beginning of this month, but really, it still is any day now. It could be tomorrow. :star:

Hi there. Since my biometrics on August 23rd, I havent gotten any touches or updates at all from USCIS about my case. I got worried because looking from other people's timelines, they got touches or updates from USCIS after their biometrics. I received nothing for almost two months! My husband called them and they said that my paperwork was received July 31st and everything looks fine, no RFEs were sent and that they are still on their 90-day timeframe to process. If I dont hear from them after 90 days, then I should call them again for a service request. So we were fine. I know a fellow Filipina who is an August AOS filer and the day after her biometrics, she got an update or a "touch" for her AOS and EAD, and then 3 or 4 days later, "touches" again. Wait a minute, I am a month ahead of her and we live in the same area, CA. My husband decided to call USCIS again. This time, this very nice customer rep said that my AOS and EAD applications are at the National Benefits Center at the moment. The problem is, it shows on her computer that the ASC where I had my biometrics somehow didnt update at all that I had it done and that the NBC is waiting for that. But if my biometrics wasnt done at all, their system would have send automatically a mail to have it done again, which was weird. So she said that their office could have just "probably" forgotten to send that information to NBC, that they're office is just slow down there or some worker there messed up. To make it short, all this time my paperwork is just sitting there at the NBC and not being worked on. The customer rep advised us to schedule an InfoPass to know what's really happening. That's what we did. We scheduled an InfoPass for Friday and we'll see what's going to happen next. I have read timelines of other VJ members who never got any touches or updates at all from USCIS after their biometrics and they just got their EAD/GC card in the mail after two to three months. That's good news. However, I just want to make sure that I'm not waiting for nothing at all. Probably the InfoPass would give us some answers.

They always say its case to case basis..I submitted earlier than you my NOA is july 21..and still I dont receive my ead or any update with AOS...I think Ill just wait for the 90 day frame and then I will have to make an infopass with regards to my ead...

I have been reading my letter regarding my interview and starting to gather the relevant information/documents etc. It states that I need to bring;

All documentation establishing your eligibility for Lawful Permanent Resident Status. What kind of docs would these be exactly?

Thanks in advance,
