Hello everyone,

I just got an envelope in the mail today 9/27/08 from USCIS National Benefits Center containing 2 identical documents which appears to be the Advance Parole :dance: with my color photo at the bottom left ofthe document. It states that I am authorized to travel abroad but under a long list of conditions... which in realirt means I should not travel at all until the GC is in hand. The reason is that I have unlawfully stayed in the US for more than 180 days :bonk: and the reason is that I could not file my AOS eventhough I got married while in legal status but my husband was not a US citizen at that time. He had to wait for 4 years until they finally approved him to become a citizen...

Anywys, I just wanted to share with you all the news and hopefully soon will get the GC.... good luck to all

I just called USCIS. The lady was so sweet and nice and she looked up my case for me. She said my case has no RFE and she said if my case has not been approved within 70-75 days, I am allowed to call them and request for service.

So they can take a look at my case.

So if you are waiting for over 80days, definitely call them.

I had no idea how to reach the customer service, so I just went to the address change and went to customer service. I just said oh sorry, I did not know. The lady said that's ok.

Thanks for the advice. When nothing came in the mail today, I called the number on the page with information about each case (the receipt number links): (800) 375-5283. After continuing in English, I chose option 2: to check the status of an application. Option 1 is for if you know your receipt number, but it wouldn't accept my receipt number (it kept telling me that I hadn't entered enough digits), so I chose option 3, which is for if you've lost your receipt number.

The woman I talked to was business-like and helpful. She got all 3 receipt numbers from me and looked them up. She didn't see any more information than I have except that they are all at the National Benefits Center in Chicago. (Aren't they processed somewhere else?) She was also able to confirm that no RFEs have been sent out.

She then told me that they're processing cases from March 1 and that cases can take longer at times due to factors such as how many applications were sent in before mine, etc. I responded that I take part at an online forum where people record application dates, and that numerous people who had applied at around the same time or after me had had their EADs and APs approved. Because it had been more than 60 days since I'd heard anything, she did a service request for information about my files. I should be contacted about them within...[drumroll here]...45 days. Probably closer to 30 days, she said, but I expect to have my EAP and AP well before 30 days. But if my files are stuck somewhere, at least the service request should be able to get them unstuck. We'll see.

I'm around the same time as you...I personally doubt that the service request would help so I'm trying to be patient and wait...I figure based on my calulations (if I'm right) I should receive it in the next 2-3 weeks...hey I could be wrong...so if you do hear anything let us know :blush::unsure:

Hey, I called up USCIS right now. A pretty nice lady picked up the phone. OK, on the website, they are now processing July 31st application. So, I told that to the lady. She said people who are waiting over 70days should call up and do service request. I have to wait for three more days to do so. And she said it depends on the officers. But, we should be approved soon. Again, I have no RFE.

also, I don't know how accurate USCIS website is or if they're even reliable...i've seen lots of july filers that are close to receiving their greencard way ahead of USCIS' projected "6 month" timeframe...

Hi july filers. Still nothing here for my ead and aos. I really feel that its a bad thing that I submitted a corrected answer for EAD I felt it messed up my case..Cause they have to match the document they receive and had to pull it up from the files maybe im in the bottom now  I guess I just have to wait now for the second ead receipt number dated august 22 (NOA1) I guess my JUly 21(noa1) for the first one is really void now. Just said that trying to correct a mistake will make it more longer. And they didn't ask for a correction anyways. So its my fault :bonk::dead::blush: Just venting. Anyways Ill just have to deal with it. Hoping for more approvals this week and congrats to the new approvals
