I don't think that telling the employer that you are "not available" for the moment is a good idea.

I am so frustrated! :bonk: My husband has been offered a few jobs but can't accept any because he has not had his EAD approved. The frustrating part is that he had his Bio on July 25th. Since then, his case has not been touched. To make matters worse (in my mind) I called the USCIS number and they don't even acknowledge that the Bio took place and I can't seem to get a living, breathing person on line to see if we are just stuck on stupid or if "somehow" we have been "misplaced". Then the frustration level increases when I see others that 2 days after their Bio appts their case gets transfered to CSC but ours is still stuck. I am happy for them but it sucks for us.

He wants to work, he has a job waiting for him if they would just hurry up and I need help with our U.S. wedding and very well deserved honeymoon. My family has done an excellent job with helping but I know he wants to help pay for our day and it makes him feel bad that he can't work.

If anyone has some words of wisdom and can offer any suggestions or anything, it would be greatly appreciated. I'm not normally this much of an emotional basketcase, but no seeing any progress is quite frustrating as I'm sure we can all agree.

Thanks for letting me vent!

I've applied for about 5 gov't jobs & wrote one exam yesterday and another coming up on Sept 9th...I don't have my EAD yet and they know that. Gov't jobs take quite some time to fill as they usually have the exam, then the interview...I know in Canada, the process (Federally) can take up to six months. I let them know on my profile that I am awaiting the EAD (4 to 6 weeks or so) and that doesn't seem to matter obviously. I figure I can possibly get a jump on a job if I start now...if they like someone enough who has the qualifications and the personality they're looking for (or who will fit in in a particular department), they will wait! I've worked at enough term positions with government to know that.

Good luck to everyone!!
