Hi,

technically, we are July filers. We sent it on the 15th only to have it returned to us, it having been sent to the wrong address (Nebraska instead of Chicago, our fault I suppose). Anyway, we resent the AOS/EAD package to the correct address (the Chicago lockbox one) via UPS so it arrived on Wednesday the 6th of August. Today, though, we received an interesting letter from the National Visa Center informing us that the visa petition 'mentioned' in my letter has been approved and forwarded to the London embassy, followed by my case number and our 'priority date' in November.

I'm confused. Should the London embassy have anything further to do with this now that I'm legally married in the US (from an approved K-1 visa)? And why has the National Visa Center gotten involved?

The letter, though it gave the correct dates, looked like an automated, unsigned print-out from the NVC approval phase of the K-1 process.

Have they done what I think and sent my Adjustment of Status application to the London embassy? I'll be calling them on Monday anyway but has anyone else experienced this?

Jack... just be sure that it's an official letter and not a scam.

Also check the contact ingo they give you with what you can find either online or on other documents you may have.

I have never heard of a case beeing approved and transferred in the country of the fiance..... it sound very weird

what form did you send and at what adress exactly ?

A small correction: my husband does not have an IR-1 (if he did, there would be no AOS needed). He was here on a B-1B-2 when our I-130 was approved for the IR-1. We decided to skip the rest of the consular processing and go to AOS instead, on an attorney's advice.

Our biometrics appt is next Saturday here in NYC, and I tried to do a walk-in this saturday and was rejected.

Anyone have any idea how long it normally takes to get a interview notice?

I'm kind of bummed for my wifes application since it was received on JUN 30 and then touched Jul 03 for the Bio appointment. Since then nothing absolutely no touch or messages. 5 weeks now with no processing or changes. She has the opportunity to travel home for business in September and we were hoping the process would be further along.

I've tried to contact USCIS about it but can't manage the phone system to talk to a real person.
