Just got my Biometrics Appointment Letter in the mail :D I'm scheduled for Aug 19 in Cleveland. That is 2 weeks from today and frankly I'd love to go earlier as a walk-in but I'm too scared to do that. It says on the notice that failure to appear at the appointment as scheduled may result in case abandonment... I don't know what to say... What do you guys think?

Anyone knows from this point how long it takes untill we get the EAD? I'm getting impatient staying in the house all day...

How's everyone doing?

Our K-3 timeline

- jan. 12 2008 - Wedding

- feb. 11 2008 - sent I-130 to Chicago lockbox

- march 06 2008 - sent I-129F to CSC

- may 06 - APPROVED

- jun 12 - medical and interview passed! Visa in the passport!!!

- jun 24 - entry in US through Chicago

AOS

- jul 16 2008 - AOS + EAD sent to Chicago lockbox

- jul 28 - NOAs for AOS and EAD

- aug 6 - Bio letter

- aug 11 - RFE e-mail (I-864)

- aug 19 - Biometrics done (they scanned my little fingers maybe 20 times because fingerprints were not clear enough :P )

Thank you God! Just a few more steps..

In my opinion doing the biometrics as a walk-in will not speed up the processing of the case, probably slow it down.

so my advice is to wait for your original appointment date and go with a quite mind, and you will be fine, it's a piece of cake, just make sure you take your NOAs with you and ID other than that it's just filling out a paperwork and fingerprints and the Pic which is less than 15 min.

Has there been a case in here that was slowed down because of walk-in biometrics? Now I'm in trouble

i wonder about it too... wich is why i keep the stat all relative to the NOA1 reception date

If people who did walkin appointment are faster or slower than other, we'll see :)

I guess it all depends also if you come from a k1 kind of visa or another kind of situation.

Note for nanny : when you apply to see your case online i think it will automatically put the date of the actual day you applied to see it online. It did the same with me with my NOA1 from the K1 and the NOA1 from the OAS/EAD/AP.

Hi there,

I created the online account with USCIS 2 weeks ago, as soon as we got the NOAs but we could not view the case status at that time. As soon as we did the biometrics on Sat 9/2/08 then I could view the case status online on Monday 8/4/08. Also, I checked the case status online today, it shows it was updated on 8/5/08.

So for those who doubt that the walk-in might or might not hurt the case, I have adifferent take on it. As soon as the biometrics were done, the first working day, which was this past Monday I was able to add the case reciept numbers which means the system works. in other words, they are all a network of computers which uploads and downloads clients information including biometrics wheather it is done or not, they are not in stone age where they have to wait for the mail to arrive with updates.

Please keep hope alive.

Thanks,

correction, I meant to say 8/2/08 not 9/2/08

sorry

i can view all my case's status from the K-1 to the AOS & EAD at the same day of the NOA's arrives in mail, so this is not the cases for all of us, and yes it's computers networks, servers, bar codes, etc .... and i think everybody knows that, so till now we can't judge if the WALK IN will speed up or slow down the process, all what we can do is wait and see what will happen.

GOOD LUCK FOR ALL OF US

Peace

Hi july filers. Have anyone filed I-765 together with I-485 and they put (a) (6) in question 16 on I-765 as their category? I just feel so down realizing that i have made lots of mistake. First with i-485 non-immigrant number, second I-864 evidence of assets and lastly that i just discovered is on I-765 category I put (a) (6) but it supposed to be © (9). In my mind I will really expect lots of RFE :cry2: I wanted to think positive but looking at this mistakes that ive done its hard to think positive :(

Oh well I read post from people who had this experience some had to send a letter of correction, some had made an infopass appointment at their local office and some didnt do anything at all and still was approved. I guess what i'll do is just to wait on their response since I already had my biometrics done, I just hope that the person who will handle my case will correct my mistake , hoping and praying and will just wait for their response... -_-
