After a long wait since our case was transfered to California

we received an RFE for the medical records, so I had to take them again here in the US

since the doctor's office was in another state, he let me take the blood test in the town I live

and bring the results as well as the vaccines records (in original)

the doctor pretty much transfered the information into the approved form, sign it and gave it to me

Green card was issued 30 days after they received the additional info.

Date of approval 1/13/2009

I read in another post that USCIS finds it more convenient ( for them )

to send a RFE for the medical records than go look for them in the primary file

wich is the one sent by the embasy of our countries of origen.

If you notice this is very common for those who had their physicals done before the K-1 was issued.

Sylvia

Hi everyone!

we are preparing everything for our interview next week. It really gets me that we had an interview for our K1 visa less than a year ago, and now we have to do it again. In any case, i'm trying to think of things to show that we are a bonofied marriage. so far i have our apartment lease & joint bank account. I have utility bills for each of us...they do not have both of our names, but they have the same address. The utility companies will not let us put both names on the bill. I also have cards that have been sent to both of us, and a ton of photos. Does anyone have any other recommendations of things to bring to the interview?

thanks in advance!

Okay guys - I need some clarity or help here.

I had my interview in Detroit yesterday and it was confusing - I didn't know whether to be mad or glad.

So I get there, drop my letter in the pile and wait to be called. This lady with ashy blonde hair calls my name and me and my husband follow her to her cubicle. She sits us down, then tells us to stand to give an oath that we're telling the truth. She then rifles through my paperwork and asks me questions that I already said "no" to (all that jazz about how I'm not going to be a threat to the country) and makes me say NO to all of them aloud. (nodding wasn't considered "NO"). She then asks me when and where we got married, to present her with whatever evidence we had (not much - marriage license, shared credit card, insurance papers) and when I asked if she wanted to see pictures (I brought an album and a wedding scrapbook) - she said no. Then she rifles again thru the paperwork and asks about my medical - which she couldn't find. Well, I sure as heck didn't have it - seeing as how it was sent away the second it was completed. She ends up finding it and then gets down to business.

The woman asks about my sponsor Support person, who is my father in law. He owns his own business, so our CPA compiled all the necessary paperwork the USCIS needed. The lady says "I'm not sure why you would send me the company's tax forms, since you're not applying for an H-1 Visa" - which doesn't make sense b/c the company's tax information has to do with my father in law. Anyways, she get to the point that in '06, the company suffered a loss, and her concern was "How did your father in law get paid if the company suffered a loss". Don't people pay themselves even if the company suffers a loss?! And you find that out AFTER you've already paid yourself?!?!

I just didn't get why the interviewer was focusing SO MUCH on this. She actually wouldn't drop it either. After asking whatever other mundane questions she had about my father in law's taxes, she tells us to wait outside while she makes copies of stuff and gives me back the 06 tax papers for the company. We wait like, 10 mins for her to come back out to get us to sign some form saying how I'm responsible for applying again after our 2-yr anniversary (I wasn't paying much attention b/c I was wondering what the outcome was going to be). So then she's basically sending us off - but I stop her and ask what's going on - Did I get it or not?!! She replies by telling me that they're going to review my paperwork and see if they need further evidence (My father in law's paystubs - since I guess she can comprehend how he got paid in 2006!!). I mean, why didn't they hammer all these things out BEFORE sending me the letter?! So anyways, she says either they'll mail me the greencard or they'll mail me a letter saying they need more paperwork.

I left the stupid office flabbergasted. I couldn't believe how annoying this woman was (ashy blonde hair, glasses, a wooden pencil holder from Lebanon on her desk). I know I'll get the Greencard eventually (well, let's hope so - with my luck), but I just couldn't get over how the interview went in a direction TOTALLY different than what I was expecting. What does it matter about my father in law's financial business (he always got paid) NOW, when I can work now anyways?!

I keep on reading how ppl are getting approved left, right and center - so I'm just wondering if anyone has experienced the ####### I have.

I'm so damn frustrated right now!! :bonk:

I wouldn't worry to much about it, from the sounds of it you're approved (she just needs clarification for herself), I doubt she'd let you sign the paper stating you need to remove conditions if she wasn't 100% sure that you're approved, and if she needed a second opinion...so just wait it out (I know easy to say) but everything will be ok...

Hi All,

We recieved a welcome letter in the mail a couple of days ago but the GC has not arrived yet. Today2/3/09, there was an update online stating the following :

Application Type: I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS

Current Status: Approval notice sent.

On February 3, 2009, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS. Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service.

Well, I hope the GC will not get lost in the mail, just like my sister's passport.

Thanks for the words of encouragement. It's sometimes so hard to see the positive when all you get is negative from these people! I guess after the interview, I expected SOME sort of closure and I got none. :s
